lghereas Hugh Felix McNelliS, Hugh MoCaffery and Carl Blank were each elected to the office of
member of the Board of Trustees~ of the' City .of SOuth Ban Francisco at a general municipal election
held in said City of South Sen Francisco on the' 14th day of April I924 and thereafter said HUgh
Felix MoNellis, Hugh NcCaffery and Carl Blank each duly QUalified as such members of Said Board
of Trus%ees a~ld ever since have been and now are the holders of s~:id elective offices~';'and
lghereas the tot&l number of voters voting and the tota~ number votes cast at said general mun
icipal' election was Nine Hundred and Eighty - five{986); and
Whereas a petition demanding the removal or-recall of' each of said members of said Board of Trust
ecs and-the election of a successor of each of said members of said'Board of 2ruateez ha~ been duly
filed withthe Clerk of said Board of Trustees. which such petition contains a statement of the g
grounds on which the removal or recall of each of said members of ~aid Board of Trustees is sought;
and.
lghereae said City Clerk has duly examined said .petition and all the signatures thereon and has
duly examined Che great registe~ of'the County of San ~ateo, State of California,~ and, upon such
examination has found that said petition has a sufficient number of Qualified electors or voters
as signers of said petition, as requieed by law,and that said petition is sufficient in form as
required by law, and said City Clerk duly.affixed to recall petStlon his certificate showing his
findings robe as hereinbefore recited ; and
Whereas the District Court of Appeal of the State of California, First Appellate District, Div-
ision One,in Action No. 5441 therein has decided that said recall petition is legally sufficient in
form and substance and is signed by qualified voters of said City of ~outh San Francisco, exceeding
in number twenty-five (25) percent of the entire vote within ssid City at the last general municipal
election held in said city, and a ,peremptory writ of Mandate has been issued out of said District
CoUrt og Appeal commanding the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco and the members
of said Board of Trustees to immediately and forthwith call ~nd cause a spe,ial electionto be held
in said City of Sou~h San Francisco, Cou~y of San Mateo, State of California, within not less than
thirty-five (35) nor more than Fort~ (40) days after the date of the order calling such special elec
tion to deter~ine wherther the voters will recall said Hugh Felix McN~llis, Hugh McCaffery and Carl
Bla~ as members of the Bo~rd of Trustees of said City of South San F ancisco; and
Whereas said city clerk has duly submitted said petition to saidBBard of Trustees;
Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that a
special election is he~ called and shall be held in said City of South Sa~ Francisco, County of
~an.Mateo.State of California, on Saturday the 15th day of. May 1926, for the pUrpose of sub-
mitting,and at which there is hereby submitted, to the qualified voters of said City of South Sam
Francisco the question of determining whether such voters will' recall said Hu~h ~elix McNellis, as a
member of said Board of Trustees,and ,in case said Hugh Felix McNellis shall be so recalled and re-
moved from office by said speci~.l election, the election of the successor of said Hugh Felix McNell~
; and also the question of determining whether such voters Will recall said Hugh McCaffery,
member of said Board of TruStees,and,in cs. se said Hugh McCaffery shall be so recalled amd removed
from office by saids special election, ~he .election of the successor of said Hugh McCaffery; and
also the question of determining whether such Voters will recall said Carl.Blaze,as a member of the
said Board of Trustees, and ,in case said Carl Blank shall be recalled and removed from offivce
by said special election; the election of the successor of said' Carl Blenk.
And said 15th da~ of May, 1926 is hereby fixed as the date for holding said special electio:
~' For the p~rPose of holding said special election said City of South San Francisco has been div-
ided and the same is hereby divided into four election precincts respectively to be known as Consol-
idated Voting.Precinct "A",Consolidated Voting Precinct "B", Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" and
Consolidated Voting Precinct "D",
Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall include all the territory described in South San ~raucisc
Precinct No.~ , and South San Francisco Precinct No.2, as established by ~rdinsnce No. 316 of the
Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, as amended by Ordinance N~.34~
of the said Board of Supervisors on the 14th day of December, 192~, .dividing said County into
election precincts and establishing the. boundaries thereof, and the polling place for said. Consolide
ed Voting 'Precinct."A". shall be in Laufer's Garage lll Magnolia Avenue in said City.
Consolidated Voting Precinct "B"-shall include all the territory described in South San ~rancsco
Precinct No.$3, and South San Francisco Precinct No.4 as established by said Ordinance of the said
Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, as amended as aforesaid, and the polling place fez
said consolidated Voting Precinct "B" s~ll be in the Basement of the City Hall in said City .
Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall include all territory described in South San Fr&ncisco
Precinct No.5. and South San ~raucisco Precinct No,6,as established by said ordinance of the Board
of Supervisors of said County'of San Mateo, as amended as aforesaid, and the polling place for said
Consolidated NOting Precinct "C" shall be in Pala's Hall ~2~ San Bruno Road in said City,
Consolidated Voting Precinct "D" shall.include all the territory described in South san ~rancisc
Precinct No.? and Bouth'Ssn Francisco Precinct No.8,as established by said Ordinance of the Board o~
Supervisors of said Cou~y of San Mateo, as amended as afoeesaid, and the polling place for said Coz
Solidated Voting PrecinCt "D"'shall be in Robert Burn, s Garage South East Corner of ~pressAve.

And said special election'shall be conducted by said boards of elaction under the law governing
mUnicpal elections in cities of the~sixth claSS, and all particulars not covered by SUch law, then
under the geheral election laws of the State of California.
At said special election the polls in each of said consolidated voting precibnct shall be opened
six 16) o'clock A.M. of the day of election and shall be kept open until seven [?1 o'clock P.M. of the
same day, when the polls Shall be closed.
A suNficient number of ballots shall be and is hereby directed to be prepared and caused to be prin'
for said precincts as provided by law and uPon the'proper kind of paPer, to-wit the same as used at the
general elections in the State of California, by the clerk of the City of South San Francisco and shall
be f~nished and provided for t'he use of the voters at said special election . The City Clerk is hereby
also directed to procure the necessary voti~ booths and the see that they are properly erected and to I
secure all necessary election materials and sup~iieSrequired by law.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith publish in" The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper pub-
lished and circulated in said City of South San Francisco, by two ~2] successive insertions therein

Notice is hereby given that a special election will be held in the City of SouthnSan Francisco on
