.RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS
OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL E?.EcTION HELD 'IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON THE 1.2th DAY OF APRIL? 1926..
WMEREAS,a general municipal election was held in the City of South San Francisco,County of
San Marco,State of Califo~nia,on the 12th day of April ,1926,pursuant to law;and
WHEREAS?, Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk of said City has duly presented all returns of votes
cast in said election to the Board ofnTrustees of said City;and
WMEBEAS, said Board of Trustees have inspected and examined all said returns;
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of said City and said Board finds as f(
follows:
Thah the names of the persons voted at said electi'on for the office of City Trustees, are as
follows, to-wit ~
Harry Alexander Cavassa,Fred Alonzo Cunningham, Albert Joseph Eschelbach,
That the following Proposition was submitted to a vote of ~he people of said City,to-wit:
Shall the Board of Trustees of the City of South Sen Francisco, be authorized to levy a speci~
tax and not to exceed thirty cents 1.30).of One Hundred Dollars (100.00) assessed valuation, the proc
oS-which tax to be used in the grading and beautifying-of the Civic Center, pursuant to that certain
act ~entitled,"Anact providing for the levy of a special tax for specific public improvements within
municipalities duly.adopted by the Legislature of the State of California,on MarchlS,19$1.
That at said election a referendu~n was submitted to the voter for the purpose of determining
whether the citizens of said City were in favor o£~ PUrchasing the South San Francisco Water Company
by the City, if the same can be acguired at a fair price.
That the total number of votes cast in Consolidated Precinct "A" were630
That the following were the votes cast in said precinct for the persons and on the propositio:

383; in favor of said proposition 238 ;against said proposition 199; in favor of the purchase
of the South San Francisco Water Company 204; against the purchase of the South San Francisco ~ater

That the total number of votes cast .for said officers as City Trustees are 123~
That the total number of votes cast on the proposition are 827
That the total number of votes cast on the referendum are 790
Said Board of Trustees of the South Sa~ Francisco,hereby declares and fin&sthat Fred Alonzo
Cunningham and Albert Joseph Eschelbach were duly elected at said election, as members of the Board
of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco~full term.
That the total number of votes cast in favor of said proposition to levy a special tax were
than the requl rea twO-thirds and thaa therefore said proposition was defeated;
That a majority 'of the p~o~le v~ting on the question submitted b2 the referendum are in favor
of the purchase of the South San Francisco Water Company if the same can be acquired at a fair price.
The City Clerk is here by ordered to issue certificate of election to said Fred Alonzo Cunningh
and to said Albert Joseph Eschelbach.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly adopted by the Trustees of the C~ty of Sour
