HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 109-1926RESOLUTION DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE IN- VITING SEALED IROPOSALS FOR PAINTING PORTIONS OF THE F~XTERIOR OF THE CITY RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco, that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby directed to publish for two (2) weeks in "The South San Francisco Journal", a newspaper of general circulation p~inted and published in said City of South San Francisco, the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids: NOTICE INVITING SEAI~D PROPOSALS FOR PAINTING ON THE CITY HALL. Sealed proposals wil~ be received by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco until 7:.Z0 o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 18th day of October. 1926, for doing the following work in the City of South S,~n Francisco, County of Sen Mateo, State of California: Painting vJith two (2) coa~s 'of paint all e:~terior wood work and metal work, which have been heretofore pointed on the City Hall of said City of South San Frauci~co, and furRishing all labor and material there~¥. All paint used in said work shall be of the best quality of white lead and linseed oil and shall be co~ ored wi'~h coloring matter to produce the colors now ex~ ~ting where such p~inting i~, to be done. The successful bidder sh~ll, within ten (10) d~ysafter the award, enter into a contract with She City of South ~sn Francisco for the performance of the work to be done under such award. AS1 proposals ~u~t,be accompanied with a certified.check upon a solvent bank of the State of California, payable to the City of South S~ Francisco, in an m:nount not less. than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate, of the bid, upon the condition that if the proposal be accepted and the ~ontrsct awarded, and if the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the~ contract and ~ive the bonds required, the sum mentioned in said check shall be liquidated d~ages for such f~ilure and neglect, and shal~ be forfeited to and paid into the treaz~ury of the City of South San Francisco. The bidder to whom is av,~arded a contract wil~ be required to. e:~ecute a bond for the faithfu2 performance of his work in ~n anount equal to twenty-five (2~) per cent of the amount of his undertaking, which at least t~o I£) responsible sureties in the full s~ount of the~bid each; and will also be reqUired, before end,ring upon the work, to furni~h ~ good and~ficient bond as required by an act of the Legislature of the State of California, ~pproved May 10, 1919, entitled "An act to secure the c~sims of material~en, nechauics, or laborers empSoyed by con- tractors upon state, municipa~ or other pub~ic work," and will al~o be required to exhibit to said Board of Trustees a po~icy of insurgence sho~,ing that said bidder is in:~ured ~gainst loss through accident or negRigence, in such a way ~.s to satisfactorily protect said City of South San Francisco under the provi~ions of the "Work~en's Compensation, Insurance and Safety Act of the State of California." The contract muz, t be entered into in compliance with and subject to the conditions im- posed by Section 6B3c of the Penal Code of the State of California. Sealed proposals wiS] be delivered to the Ci~.y Clerk on or before ?:~0 o'clock p.m . on ~onday, the 18th day of October, 1926.
