Avenue and the e~,sterly terminus of Third Street in the City of Bouth San Francisco. AIl material and a.ll work must be in strict comDli~nce with the plans and specificat.~ons adopted by the Board of Trustees on the 4th day of October, 1926, a~d now on file in the office of the City Clerk. The successful bidder shall, within ten Il0) days after the award, enter into a contract with the City of South San Fran- cisco for the f~ithful perfor::',a.nce oi' the work to be 'done under said award. All pro~osals must be accompanied with ~ certified check upon a solvent bank of the State of Cs~ifornia, payable to the bity of South Sau z~rancisco, in an amount not less thma ten Il0) per cent of the aggregate of the bid, upon the c~ndition that if the proposals be accepted and the contract awarded, and if the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the contract and give the bonds required, the sum mentioned in said check shall be liquidated dam~ge~ for smch failure and neglect, ~nd.shall be forfeited to and paid into the treasury o£ the City of South S~ ~'rancisco. The bidder to whom is awarded a contract will be required to execute a bond for the ~aithful performance of his wark in s.n ~ount equal to twenty-five 125) per cent of the an~ount of his undertaking, with at least Two [2) responsible s,zreties in the full ~mount of the bid each: and will also be required, before entering upon the work, to furnish'a good and sufi'icient bond a~; required by an act of the Legisls. ture oi' the State of Ca]i£ornia, approved May 10, 1919, entitled "An act to secure the claims of materi~lmen, mechanics, or laborers, e~ployed by contractors upon state, municipal or other public work," and wil] also be required to exhibit to said Board of Trustees a policy of insurance showing that said bidder is insulted ~gainst loss through accident or negligence, in such a way as to satisfactorily protect said City of South San Francisco under the provisions of the "Worknuen's Compensation, Insurance and Safety Act of the State of Cai ifornia." The contract must be entered into in compliance with and Subject to the conditions imposed by Section 653c of the Penal Code of the State of California.
