CIVIC CENTER SITE AND A PORTION OF ORANGE AVENUE
IN THE CiTY 0F SOUTH SAN~ FRANCISCO.
Sealed proposals wi~,l be received by the Board of Trustees of the City of' South
San ~rancisco until ?~:~0 o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 8th day of November, 1925, for'doing
the following work in the City of S~utb Ss~ Francisco, County of SAn Mateo, State of
California:
The grading of the Civic Center Site and the grading of Orange Avenue between the
southerly ~ine of Commercial Avenue and the easterly terminus of Third Street in the City
of South San Francisco.
All material and all work must be in strict compliance with the pSans and spec-
ifications adopted by the Board of Trustees on the 4th day of October, 1926, and now on
file in the office of the City CLerk. The successful bidder shall, within ten (10) days
after the award, enter into a contract with the City of South San Francisco for. the
faithful performance of the work to be done under said award.
AI~ proposals must be accompanied with a certified check upon a solvent bank of
the State of California, payable to the City of South San ~ra~cisco, in an amount not
less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate of th~ bid, upon the condition that if the
Proposal be accepted and the contract awarded, and if the bidder shall fail and neglect
to execute the contract and give the bonds required, the sum mentioned in said check shall
be liquidated damages for such f~ilure and neglect, and shall be forfeited to and paid
into the treasury of the City of South San Francisco.
The bidder to whom is awarded a contract wi!~ be reqquired to execute a bond for
the faithful performance of his work in an amount equal to twenty-five (2~) per cent
of the amount of his undertaking, with at least Two (2) responsible sureties in the
ful2 amount of the bid each; and will also be required, before entering upon the work,
to furnish a good and sufficient bond as required by an act of the Legislature of the
State of California, approved May 10, 1919, entitled "An act to secure the claims of
materialmen, mechanics, or laborers employed by contractors upon state, municipal or
other pub~.ic work," and wi~ also be required to exhibit to said Board of Trustees a
policy of insurance showing that said bidder is insured against ~os~ through accident
or neg~.igence, in such a way as to satisfactorily protect said City of South San Fran-
cisco under the provisions of the "Workmen's Co~pensation, Insurance and Safety Act of
the State of California."
The contract must be entered into in compliance with and subject.to the conditions
i~posed by Section 6B3c of the Penal COde of the State of California.
Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before ?:30
o'clock p.~. on l~!onday, the 8th day of November, 1926.
All s~aled proposals or bids will be opened by said Board of Trustees in public
session on Monday, the 8th day of November, 1926, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council
Chan~ber of said Board.
The Board of Trustees hereby reserves the right to re Ject any and all bids.
