WHM_REAS public interest and convenience require that the work and imProvement
hereinafter'described should be done: and
WMEME~S,in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Praucisco,
said contemplated work and improvement is and is hereby declared to be of more than local or
ordinary, public benefit:
NOW,THERF~0RE, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San F~ancisco
that it is the intention of said Board to order the following work and improvement to be
done in said Cit~? of South San ~_ancisco:
SECTION 1. That Elm Avenue Trom the northerly line of Miller Avenue to a line drawn
parallel with and distant one hund~d eighty (I80) feet northernly from the northerly line
of Miller Avenue; Locust Avenue and Orange Avenue from the northerly line of_~iller Avenue to
the northerly line of the alley which traverses Block 94,Map of South San F ancisco Plat No.1,
be improved by gra$ing said streets for the full length and width thereof between said lines,
.and also by constructing combined hydraulic cement concrete curbs and gutters and hydraulic
cement concrete sidewalks on each side of said Avenues and also by constructing in the road-
ways thereof between said gutters, for the full length therof,an, asphaltic concrete pavement
one and one-half (1 1/2) inches in thickness !aid on a concrete base four (4) inches in thickness
SECTION 2. That Tamarack Avenue from the Westerly line of Spruce Avenue to the easterly
line of Elm Avenue be improved by grading the same for the full length and width thereof,
between said lines, and by pavin~ tha same for a width as shovm on the hereinafter mentioned
plans with a hydraulic cement concrete pavement fiv~ (5) inches in thickness,having an intergral
hydraulic ce~:~ent cnncrete curb along the northerly edge of said pavement and a re?wood header
board, two (.2)' inches in thickness by six (6) inches in width along the southerly edge of said
pavement for the full lenght thereof ..
SECTION Z. That the following described portions of the alley,which traverses Block 10Z,
Block 94 and Block 85,I~p of South Zen Frencisco Plat No.1 be improved by grading said portions
between said hereinafter mentioned lines,for the full width thereof and also by constructing
a hydraulic cement concrete Pavement five (~) inches in thickness,having a redwood header board
two (2) inches in thickness,~y six (6) inches in depth along each side of said concrete pavement
for the full length between said lines and for a'width as shown on the plans and specification
hereinafter mentioned,to-wit:
That portion of the said alley between the westerly line of Elm Avenue and the easterly line
of. Orange lvenue, excepting therefrom the intersections of said alley with Eagnolia Avenue and
Lovust Avenue; also that portion of said alley between the easterly line of Eucalyptus Avenue
and a lin~ drawn at right angles across said alley two hundred (200) feet easterly from said
easterly line of Eucalyptus Avenue;
Section 4.. That vitrified saltg~azed ironstone pip'e sanitary sewers and red burnt brick
manholos,capped with cast iron frames and covers,of the sizes dimensions and forms shown and
described on the plans and profiles hereinafter referred to,be constructed in the number,of
material,to the grades and in the locations and positions as shown and described on the plans
and profiles hereinafter referrid to; also that vitrified salt gl~zed ironstone sww~ pipe wyes
be Construsted in and ?laced along the lines of said sanitary sewers to the number of one wye
for each seperate lot,piece or parcel of land, as shown on said plans and profiles hereinafter
referred to and to be served by such proposed sanitary sewer.All said wyes shall be four (4)
inch by Six;6) inch and such wyes,sewers and manholes shall be construcSed in and along the
followinf described avenues,alleys,rights og way and sewer easements to-wit:
(a) tn Orange Avenue from Miller Avenue to the alley traversing Block 94,Eap of South San

of April,192? bein~ a right of way connecting the sewer easement in Block 6 of said Map cf
Parkway Terrace with the proposed sewer in the intersection of the hereinbefore mentioned alley
with Locust Avenue; the lan~ over and through which said right of way has been conveyed is situate

Section 5. Whenever the expression"Map of SoUth San Francisco ~lat Nc.l" is used herein,
it shall be understood to mean that certain map entitled ~ South San F ancisco,Sau Msteo Co, Cal.
Plat No.l,filed in the office of the. Cou~y Recorder of the County of ~an Mateo,S rate'of California,

All work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plams,profiles and
specifications for said work and to. the official grade shown upon said plans,profiles and specificat~
ions for the improvement of Elm Avenue,Locust Avenue,Orange Avenue,Tamarack Avenue, Grand Avenue,
Magnolia Avenue,Palm Avenue,a nd certaim alleys and for the construction of sewers in Parkway

location and extent of the work to be done hereunder and for a particular description of the bound-
aries of the district herein mentioned,There is ezcepted,however,from the above mentioned work

the manner and form required by law.
The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be con,spicuouely posted along the
line of said contemplated work or improvement,at not more than Three Hundred [300) feet
in distant apart, and along all open streets within said district and in front of all
the property liable to be assessed and not more than three hundmed IS00) feet in distance
apart, but not less than three [31 in all in each street in said district,notices of the pa
passage of th&s resolution of intention, in the manner and form required by the "Improvemamt
Act of 1911" and the amendments thereto.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday,the 16th day of May,192? at the hour of 7;30
o'clock p.m. in the chamber of said Board~f Truatees of the City of South San Francisco,any
and all persons having an objection to the proposed work and improvement may appear before
said Board of Trustees and show cause why said proposed work and' improvement should not be
carried out in accordance with .thi's resolution,
Except as hereinbefore, provided,all of the herein proposed work shall be done in
pursuance of an a ct of the Legislature of the S~tate of California,designated as the"
