THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN ~RANICO
PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE
HYDRANTS.
RESOLVED bythe City Co'u~cil of the ~ity of South Sam FrancisCo that public interest
and convenience requiredthat said City should purchase Sixty 1605 fire hydramts havimg four
inch hub end and sia inchbarrel with two two amd one-half 12 E 1/21 inch hose outlets,
Twenty -seven 127) fire hydrants having six inch hub end and six inch barrel with one four
amd one-half inch steamer outlet,amd one ~1 2 1/2 inch,hose outlet a~d ZWenty-four 124) fire
hydrants.having, four inch hub end.and six inch barrel ~vith one' tls 4 t/2 inchsteamer outlet
and one ~1~ 2 1/2 hose outlet.. Said hydrants shall conform with the specifications therefor
filed intthe office of the City Clerk of said City of South Sam Franc~co on the 8th. day of
Septm~aer,192?,which specifications are hereby adopted for such fire hydra,ts amd to which
specifications reference is hereby made.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to published for two [2) weeks in "The Enterprise
amd The South San Francisco Journal", a newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in said City of South San Francisco'the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids
for furnishing mu~:..fire hydrants to said City of ~outh San Francisco.

OR BIDS FOR 2~E FURNISHING FIRE
~DRANTS TO THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO.
Sealed proposals Will be received by the Cit~ Council ofthe City of South San ~ranciseo
until ?;~0 o'clock p.m. on Monday,the 28th day of ~eptember,192?,for furnishing Sixty 1601 fire
hydrant~ having four inch hub end and six inch barrel with two ~E) 2 1/2 inch ~hose outlSts,
~ent~.~even ~27) fire hydrants having six inch hub end and six inch barrel ~ith one Il) A 1/2
inch steamer outlet and~one ~1) 2 1/2 inch hose outlet and ~enty-four ~YA) fire hydrants having
four inch hub ~nd and six inch barrel with one ~1) A 1/2 inch steamer outlet and one ~1) 2 1/2
inch hose outlet,to said ~ity of South San Francisco.
All sa~d fire hydramts must be in strict compliance with the requirements of the specifi-
cations adopted by said City Cou$cil on the 8th. day of September,192?, and now on file in the
office o~ the City Clerk.
The successful bidder shall,within fire 18) days after the award,eneter into an agreement
w~th the sa~d City of ~outh San Fr&ncisco to furnish such fire hydrants to aaid City m~ in
accordance with the award, which may be m~6e to such bidder. ~
Each proposal mus~ be accompanied with a certified check upon a solvent bank of the
State of California~, payable to the City of South San Francisco,in a n amount not less than
Ten (101 per cent of the aggregate of the bid,upon the condition that if the proposal be accepte
and the contract award,and She bidder s~J~ll fail and neglec~ to execute the contract,the sum
mentioned in said check shall be liquidated damages for such failure and heglect,and shall be
forfeited and paid into the Treasury of said City of South San Free,see .
Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before ?:~0 o~'clock
p.m. on Monday ,the 28th. day 0£ September,192?.
All sealed proposals or bids will be opened by said City Ceamcil in public session
on Monday, the 26th. day of September,192?, at ?$~0 o~clock p.m. in the!~C~uncil Chamber of said
City'Council.
The City Council hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
