RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and convenience require that said City should purchase a multi-stage centrifugal pump of 780 gallon per minute capacity with all necessary equipment and accessories to be installed on the Seagrave combination chemical engine and hose car No.l~?6Z now owned by said City of South San Francisco and in use in the Fire Department of said City, and that said chemical engine and ho., car should be painted. Said centrifugal pump sh~ll conform with the specifications therefor fi~ in the o:fice of the City Clerk of said oity of South San Francisco on the 7th. day of Decembe~ 1927,which specifications sre hereby adopted for such centrifugal pum. p and to which spccificat~ reference is hereby ~ade. The successful bidder s~all,within five 15) days after the aw~d,enter into an agreement with said City of South San Francisco whereby said successful bidder shall furnish said centrif pm~:p to said City and install the same upon said combination chemical engine and hose car in accordnace with said specifications,and shall paint said che:uical en:ine and hose c~'. Each pro~osalsmust be accompanied with a certified check upon a solvent bank of the Stat of California,payable to the City of South San :rancisco in an amomnt not less that ten (lC) pe cent of the aggregate of the bid,upon the condition tha~. if the ?ro:osal be acceptedand the co awarded,and the bidder sahll fail and neglect to ~xecute the contract,the sum mentioned in said check shall be li.~uidated damages for such failure and neglect and shall be forfeited, and paid into the treasury of said City of South San Francisco. 158 Sealed pro?osals or bids will be delivered to the city Clerk-~en 9~:before~.:Z0 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 27th. day of December,192?.
