R~o0LVED by the Czt~, Council of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and conw
convenience requ~.re that said City .-should construct a h use for ~he central fire alarm station
in said City on the Civic Center site in said City.
Said house shal) conform .with ths plans and specifications thereby filed in the office
of the office of the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco on the 9th. day of January,19~8,
which plans and specifications a~e hereby adopte~ for said purpose.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish for two (-2} we ks in "The Enter:~:rise and The
South San Francisco Journal", a newspaper of general circulation printed amd published in said City
of South San ;'-~,

of such house:

Sealed proposals .will be received by the City Cotmci]. of the Oity of South San Francisco
until T:ZO o'cl ck p.m.~on I~onday,the Z0th. day of January,19~8, for the cons truc lng a house
for the central fire alarm station in said City upon the Civic Center Site in said City .
All labor and materials used in the construction of said house and said house shalq be in st:
strict com..lian~'et~ with the '~t. lans. and s',~ecifications adopted by said City Co'~mcil ther:for on the
9th. day of January,19S8., and now on file on the office of the City Clerk,The bidder to whom the
contract may he awarded will be required to execute to said City of South San ?rancisco a bond
faithful performance of his work ~n an am~oui~t equal to Fifty ~50) per cent of the amount of his
underta~mno with at least two ~) responsible sureties in the full amount of the bid each; and will
also be required,before entering upon the work.to furnish a ~ood and sufficient bond as required by a~
an act of the Legislature of the ~ta~e of California app..roved lday 10,1919 entitled "An act to secure
the ?ayment of the claims of persons employed by contractors ulon public works, and the claims of
persons who zurn~h materials,supplies,teams,implements,or machir~ery used or constumed by such contrac
ors i:a p®rformance of such works, and prescribing,the duties of certain public officers with reforenc~
ther.:~to;" and wil: also ~e required to exhibit to said City Council a ~.:olicy of insurance showing
that said bidder is insured against loss through acci dent or negligence under the provisioz~[: of the
"Workmen'~ Com-~ensation, Insurance and Safety Ac~ of the State o f California".
The contract must be entered into in compliance with and subject to the conditions .imposed
by Section "65~ c of the Penal Code of the S~ '
~a~e of California.
Each proposals must be accompanied with a certified check u~,-.on a solvent bard[ of tSe State
of California,payable to the City of South San Francisco in an amount not less than ten ~10) per
cent of the aggregate of the bid,upon the condition that if the :-'.roposals be accepted and the contract
awarded,and the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the contract,the sum mentioed in sai~ check
shsll be liquidated damages for such failure and neglect and shall forfeited and paid into the trea. s-
ury of said City of S,~.,uth Sa~ Francisco.

All sealed proposals or bids will be opened by said City ~ouncil in public session on
