RESOLVED byt the C::ty Co:uacil of the City of 2curb San ~'rancisco that public interest
and convenience re.quir~'~ tha~ said City should construct a f~a h~:.:~se for a central
fire alarm stst~nn on the Civic Cmnter Site in said City.
Said house shall conform2 with the plans and specifications therefor ~iled in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of South San ?rancisco on the 6th. day of February, 1288 ,which. l'"la~ns ~
and s?.?cific~:.tions are her:~by adopSed for .he said Purpose.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to pul51ish,~ for two ~2) weeks in the Znter}~rise and
the 0outh 2an Francisco Journal",a newsy~ay~er of general circulation i}rinted and published in said
City of 3o~th ~{an Francisco,the following notice inviting sealed pro?osa!s or bids for the
construction of s~cI~ house.
Sealed pro?osals will be rebeived by the City CounCil of the ~ity of South San 2rancisco
until Y:S0 o'clock p.m. on Monday,the £Tth. day. of Pebruary,19~8,for the cons~trucBi~ a house .for
a central fire alarm station upon the Civic Center Site in said ~ity .
Ail labor and ma:.erials used in the construc$ion of said house and said house shall be in
strict compliance w%~h't~e plans and speeifioations adopted by said City Council therefor on the
6th.day of February,19ES, and now om file in the o%~ice of the City Clerk. The bidder to whom
the contract may be awarded wil~ be required to exeu~te to said City of ~outh ~:an Francisco a bond
for the fai~h%ul performance of his work in an amount equal to fi%fy {~0) per cer, t of the
amount of his undertaking ~ith at least two {~) responsible sureties in the fu!! a~o~t of the
bid each; and will also ~e~r~quired,be~'ore entering' u~on t?m. ~'ork,to furnish a good and sufi'iciont
bond as required by an act oI' the Legislature oi' the ~-~tate of ~: lifonnia al)proved Eddy lOth,19!9,
entitled "An Act to secure the pa~ont of the claims of ,~ersons employed by contractors u~on public
works,teams,implements or machinery used or consume~ by such contractors in ~he l~errormsnce ox
suc~ works,au~ ~rescri~in~ Lhe a~'~.~ie~ o~ certain public oIIicers with reference thereto;" and
will also be required to exhibit to said City Oo~mcil a policy of insurance showing that said
bidder is insured against loss through accident or negligence ~der the l~rovisions of the "Work
men's Compensation,Insurance and Safety AcS of the ~;tate 0f California."
The contract must be entered intomin aompliance with uno. subject to the conditions imI, osed
by Section 6~Sc of the Penal Code of the State of California.
Each proposal must be accompanied with a certified check upon a solvent bank of the State
of California,payable to 'the City of South San l?ranoisco in an amora~t not less than ten (10)
!>er cent of the ajgregate of the bid,upon the condition that if the l,roposals be accepted a-ad the
contract awarded,a~d the bidder shall fail and neji_ect to execute the contract.,the s~n mention~.d

l'~onday ,the STth.day of FebruarF¥19~8.at ?:S~ o'clock p.m. i~i the Council Chamber of said City
Council.
The City Council hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
