WHEREAS, on the 6th day of August, 1928, the City Council oi' the City o~f South San Francisco passed and adopted a certain ordinance numbered 1~7, of which or- dinance a copy is hereinafter set lorrY; sma WHEREAS it is provided in that certain Act of ~he Legislature oZ' the State o£ California entitle~, "An act authorizing municipal corporations, 0~her than freeholder charter cities to levy and collect a tax for par~, ~ueic an~.; advertising purposes," approved April 10, 1911, tha~ such Ordinance shall not become effective until the same shall have been submitted to the electors o£ such municipal corporation at a special election to be hel~ i'or tna~ purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, resolved by the City Council o£ the City oi' South San Francisco that a special election is hereby called and shall be held in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State oI' California, on Tuesday, the ll~h day oI' September, 1928, for the purpose oI' submitting to the qualified electors the ordinance hereinOeZOre mentioned and hereinafter set i~orth. And the las~ mentioned date, to-wit, the llth day of September, 1928, is hereby fixe~ as the Gate £or~ holding said special election. The. manner of holding said special election and of voting thereat for and against said ordinance shall be as provided by law £or holding municipal elections in said City oi' South San Francisco, and in all particulars not provided for by law for holding municipal elect'ions in said City, the general elections laws of the State oi' California. so far as the same may be applicable, shall apply. In all other respects the manner of holding said special election shall be as herein provided. 214 ~or the purposes of holding said special election said City. o~ South S~n ~'ran- cisco has been divided and now is divided into four (4) elections precincts respectively to be known as Consolidated Voting Precinct "~", Oonsolidated Voting Precinct "B", Oonsolidated Voting Precinct "C" and Consolidated Voting PreCinct "D". Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. I ana South S~an Francisco Precinct No. 4, as established by 0rdin~nce No. J55 oi' the Board of Supervisors of the County of San M~teo, State of Calif- ornia, adopted on t~e l£th'day of December, 1927, dividing said County in election precincts a~d establishing the boundaries thereof, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall be in Brawn's Garage at No. 628 Miller Avenue, in said City of South San Francisco. Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall include all the territory described in $oul~h San ~rancisco Precinct No. 2, South San ~rancisco Precinct No. 5, South San Francisco ~Precinct No. $ and Sou~h San Francisco Precinct No. 7, as established by said ordinance o~ the Board of S~pervisors oi' said~ San Mateo Cou~uty, aha the polling place for saia Con- solidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be in the~basement of the City H~ll of said City~ Consoliaated Voting Precinct -"C" shall include all the territory described in South Sau~ancisc° Precinct ,No~ j, South Sau ~rancisco Precinct No~ ~ and Sout~ San ~ran- cisco Precinct No. ~ as established by s~id 0rdinsnce of the Board of Supervisors o~ said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall be at 218 Linden Avenue in said City. Consoliaated Voting Precinct "D" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. 10, South San ~rancisco Precinct No.ll aha Sou~h Sam Fran- cisco Precinct No. 1E, as establishea by said Ordinance o~ mhe Board o±' Supervisors of said County of San M~eo, and the polling place for said Consoliaated Voting Precinc~ "D" shall be in Pala~'s N~ll a~t the northeast corner of Lux Avenue an~ San Bruno Road in said City. That said election shall be conducted by boards of election consisti~ oi one (1) Inspector, One (1) Judge ana two ~) Clerks for each precinct whose duties and powers shaP1 be ~nd are ~he s~me as those of boards oi' election and of such elections officers, res- pectively, under the law governing municipal elections of said City oi' South San ~rancisco, and in particulars not covered by~ such l~w, then under the general laws of the State of C~lifornia. If any of the members of sai~ Boards of Election hereinafter named fail to attend at the opening of the polls on the morning oi' Such election, the qualified electors of that pre¢inc~ present at that hour, including members of the board, may supply the place of~ any such absen~ member by appointmenZ, as provided by said general election laws. Dotson, the Judge shall ~e E~te A. Maynard, ~ne Clerks~ shall be Annie Flink and Alice M. Young. In Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" the Inspector shall be James E. Sullivan, the Judge shall be Ann Perry, t~e Clerks shall be Angelo ~Canziani and Annie Conrad. In Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" the 'Inspector s~ll be Rebecc~ Kay, t~e Judge shall be Andrew Sorenson, ~he Clerks shall be Gertruse Mutti and Ethel M. Davidson~ In Consolidated Voting Precinct "D" the Insp,ector shall be Minnie Hendel, the Judge sh~ll be ~rances Garcia, the ClerEs shall be George Roll and ~iorina Bel~rami. All persons qualifies, at the time cZ holding said election, to vote at municipal elections in and for the City of South San ~rancisco, or entitled by law governing suc~ speci~ election, shall~ be qualified to vote at such special election. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish once a week for a period of four ~4) weeks, prior to the date herein fixed for said special election, in "The Enterprise and The South San ~rancisco Journal", a weekly newspaper printed and published in said City ol' South San Francisco, the following notice: "NOTICE 0F A S]~ECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN ~RANCISC0 ON TUESDAY, SEPTF, MBER llth, 1928, ~0R TEE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE'ELECTORS OF SAID CITY; ORDINANCE NO. l~'! Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall include aL1 the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. I and South San ~rancisco Pre~cinct No. 4, as established by Ordinance No. 353 of the Board 'o~ Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of Calif- ornia, adopted on the 12th day of December, 1927, dividing said County in election precincts and establishing the boundaries thereof and the polling place for said Consolicated Voting Precinct "A" shall 'be in Brawn's Garage at No. 628 Miller Avenue, in said City of South San Franc i sco. Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall include all the territory described in South San ~rancisoo Precinct No. 2, South San Francisco Precinct No. 5, South San Francisco Pre- cinct No. 6 and Sou~h San ~rancisco Precinct No. 'f, as established by said ordinance of the Board of Supervisors of said San Mateo County, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be in the basement of the City Hall of said City.
