RESULT 0~~ SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN HE CITY
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON SEY~g~BER llth, 1928.
WHEREAS a special municipal election was held in and through the City of South
San.~rancisco on the llth day of September, 1928, for the Purpose of submitting, and at
which special election there was submitted to .the qualified electors of the City of South
San Francisco for their approval Ordinance No. 147 of said City of South San Francisco
entitled "An Ordinance providing for the levy and collection of~a tax during the fiscal
year, commencing on the first day of July, 1928, and ending on the thirtieth day of June,
1929, for the purposes of advertising South San Francisco the Industrial City", which
ordinance was passed and adopted by the City 0ouncil of tbs City of South San Francisco
on the 6th day of August, 1928, said ordinance having been adopted and said election
having been called and held pursuant to the provisions of a resolution of said City
Council adopted on the 6th day of August, 1928, entitle~ "A resolution of the City Council
of the City of South ~an Francisco, calling a s~ecial election for the purpose of sub-
mitring to the electors of the City of South San Francisco Ordinance No. 147 entitled,
'An ordinance providing for the levy and collection of a tax during the fiscal year
commencing on the first day of July, 1928, and ending on the thirtieth day of June, 1929,
for the purposes of advertising South San ~rancisco the Industrial City'", and that
certain act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled, "An act authorizing
mun~.cipal corporations, other than fre~eholder charter cities to levy and collect a tax
for park, music and advertising purposes," approved April 10, 1911; and
WHEREAS the C~ty Clerk of said City has duly presented to the City Council of said
City of South San ~rancisco, all the r.eturns of the votes cast at said election; and
WHEREAS said City Councul h~s duly accepted all said returns;
NOW THERF~0RE, resolved by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that said City Council finds as follows:
That in Consolidated Voting Precinct "A", the number of votes cast was 157, and the
number of votes given for said ordinance was 130, and the number of votes given against
said ordinance was 27;
That in Consolidated Voting Precinct "B", the number of vbtes cast was 15~, and the
number of votes given for said ordimance was 86, and the number of votes given against said
ordinance was 69; ~
That in Consolidated Voting Precinct "C", the number of votes cast was 89, aud the
number of votes given for said ordinance was 54, and the number of votes given against
said ordinance was
That in Consolidated Voting Precinct "D", the number of votes cast was ~8, and the
number of votes given for said ordinance was 11, and the number of votes given against
said ordiance was 2?;
That the total number of votes cast at s~id City in said special municipal
election was 459;
That the total number of votes cast for said ordiance was 281;
That the total number of votes c~ast against said ordinance was 158;
The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council a statement of the
result of said election showing:
1. The whole number of votes cast in said City mt said special municipal election, and
2~ The number of votes given at each preci~nct, for ~and against said ordinance.
Said City Council does hereby further declare that said Ordinance No.14? was duly

approved and accepted at said sPecial election by a majority of the voters voting at staid
special election aha that, as provided in said mot of +.he Legislature of the Brats of
Califorhia, hereinbefore mentioned aM ia Section A of said o~dinance, the above entitled
ordinauoe is now in i~ll force and effect,

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the.City Council of the City of South Ban ~rancisco, this 17th day of September, 19P~,
