CISC0 DECIARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION 0~ OAK AVENUE
IN THE CITY~ 0~ SOUTH SAN ~RANC
W~EI~E~S, public interest and convenience require that the work and
improvement hereinafter described should be done; and
WEERF~S, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of South San
~rancisco. said contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to
be of more than local or ordinary public benefit;
NOW. THERE~0RE, resolved by the 0ity Council of the 0ity of South Sam
Francisco that it is the intention of said City Council to order the following
work and ~improvement to be done in the said city, to-wit:
Section 1, That Oak Avenue from a line ~rawn at right angles to the
southeasterly line of Oak Avenue at a point 606.71 feet northeasterly from the
intersection of the southeasterly line of Oak Avenue with the northeasterly line
of Mission Road to a line drawn across said Oak Avenue at right angles to the
southeasterly line thereof and distant 1191.5~ feet northeasterly from the inter-
section of the southeaterly line of Oak Avenue with the northeasterly line of
Mission Road, be improved, as follows, to-wit:
(a) By grading said avenue for the full length thereof between said
limits for the widths more particularly shown on the plans, profiles, detail
drawings and specifications hereinafter particularly referred to.
(b) Also by constructing on each side of said aven~e between the limits
above mentioned, combined hydraulic cemen$~ eSn~rete curbs and gutters and hydraulic
cement concrere side walks of the form, sizes~, dimensions, and in the location and
places more particularly shown on said plans, profiles, detail drawings and
specifications hereinafter referred to.
(c) By paving the roadway of said Avenue between the gutter herein provided for,
with a pavement consisting of an asphaltic con~rete base pavement four inches in
thickness and an aSphaltic concrete waaring sufrace two inches in thickness laid thereon.
(a) Also by constructing four inch diameter vitrified iron stone pipe laterals
or side sewers connecting with the existing main mower to the number and in the particular
lications as all are more fully shown and set forth on the plans, profiles, detail drawings a:
specifications hereinafter refereed to.
Ail work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plans,
profiles and specifications for said work and to the official graae shown upon said
plans, profiles an~ specifications, which plans, profiles and specifications are en-
titled, "Plans, profiles and specifications for the construction of improvement work
upon a portion of Oak Avenue, in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Marco,
State of California," which plans, profiles and specifications were heretofore adopted
by said City Council on the l?th day of September, 1928, and are now on file in the
office of the City Clerk, to which plans, profiles and specifications reference is here-
by made for a full description of said work and for the location and extent of the work
to be done hereunder and for a particular description of the boundaries of the district
herein mmutioned. There is excepted, however, from the above mentioned work any and all
such work as has been already done to official gra~e.
And said City Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work an~
improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect the lauds and
district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the district
benefitted by said work and improvement and that therefore the entire costs and expenses
of said work and improvement shall be and are hereby made chargeable against an~ shall be
assessed upon said lands and district, except as hereinafter expressly provided, which
district is within said City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of Calif-
ornia, and particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point where the southeasterly line of Oak Avenue intersects the northeast
erly line of Mission Road in the City of South San Francisco; m~uning thence from said point
of beginning northwesterly along the northeasterly line of Mission Road to a point distant
12~ feet at right angles northwesterly from the northwesterly line of Oak Avenue; thence
northeasterly parallel with and 125 feet at right angles northwesterly from the northwesterl~
line of Oak Avenue to the centerline of Grand Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline
of Grand Avenue to a point distant 160 Test westerly~ from the intersection of the centerline
of Grand Avenue with the westerl[ line of Chestnut Avenue produced northerl to intersect
said centerline; thence south 15v 33' West 331.75 feet; thence North ?40 27~ West 88.68 feet
to a point distant 140 feet at right angles southeasterly from the southeasterly line of Oak
Avenue; thence southwesterly parallel with and distant 140 feet at right angles southeasterl~
from the southeasterly line of Oak Avenue to the northeasterly line of Mission Road; thence
northwesterly along the northeasterly line of Mission Road to the point of beginning.
Saving and excepting and excluding from said district all public streets, avenues,
and alleys, lanes, courts and places included and contained.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear
interest at the rate of seven {?) per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the
manner specified in the "Improvement Bon~l Act of 1915" and the amendments thereto, the
last installment of which bonds shall mature nine ~9) years from the 2nd day of July
next succeeding ten Il0 months from their date.
"The Enterprise and the South ~an Francisco Journal", a newspaper of general cir-
culation, printed and published in said City of .South~ San Francisco, is hereby designat-
ed as the newspaper in which ~his resolution of intention shall be published, and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution of intention ~o be published
by two ~2) insertions in the manner and form required by law.
The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated wOrk or improvement, at not more than Three Hundred[300)
feet in distance apart and along all the open streets withing said district and in
front of all the property-liable to be assessed and not more than three hundred [300)
feet in distance apart, but not less than three ~3) in all in each street in sai~
district, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, in the manner and
form required by the "Improvement Act of 1911", and' the amendments thereto.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the first day of October, 1928, at the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. in the Chamber of the City°Council of the City of South
San Francisco,.~any and all persons having any objections~to the proposed w~rk aud
improvement may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in accordauce with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein proposed work shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as
the "ImprOVement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
