A RESOLUTION 0~ THE CITY COUNCIL O~ TEE CITY OF S OUTE SAN
FR~NCISC0 DECLARING ITS INTENTION T~ IMPROVE A PORTION 0~
OAK AVENUE IN THE CITY O~ SOUTH SAN E~IICIS0'O.
W~EP~EAS, public interest smd conveience require that the work and
improvemen~t hereinafter' described should be done; and
~HEREAS, in the opinion~ of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be
of more than local or ordinary public benefit;
NOW, THEREFORE, resolved by the 0ity Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it is the intention of said City Councilto order the following work
and improvement ~to be done in the said city, to-wi%:
Section 1. That Oak ~venue from a lin'e drawn at right angles to the
southeasterly line of Oak Avenue at a point 606.71 feet northeasterly from the
int~ersection of the southeasterly line of Oak Avenue with the norhteasterly line

Mission Road to a line drawn across said Oak Avenue at right angles to the southeasterly line
thereof and distant 1191.55 feet norhteasterly from the intersection of the southeasterly line
of Oak Avenue with the norhteasterly line of Mission Road be improved as follows, to-wit:
(a) By grading said avemae for the full lenght thereof between said limits for the
widths more ~ particularly shown on the plans, profiles, detail drawings and specifications
h~reinafter particularly referred to.
{b) Also by constructing on each side of said arenas between the limits above men-
tioned, combined hydraulic cement concrete curbs and gutters and hydraulic cement concrete
sidewalks of the form, sizes, dimensions, and in the location and places more particularly
shown on said plans, profiles, detail drawings and specifications hereinafter referred to.
{c) By paving the roadway of said Avenue between the gutter herein provided for,
with a pavement consisting of an asphaltic concrete base pavement four inches in thickness
and an asphaltic concrete wearing surface two inches in thickness laid thereon..
(d) Also by constructing four inch diameter vitrified iron stone pipe laterals
or side sewers connecting with the existing main sewer to the number and in the particular lo-
cations as all are more fully shown aud set forth on the plans, profiles, detail drawings
and specifications hereinafter referred to.
Ail work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plans,
profiles and specifications for said work and to the official grade shown upon said plans,
profiles and specifications-, which plans, profiles and specifications are entitled, "Plans,
profiles and specifications for the construction of improvement work upon a portion of
Oak Avenue, in the~ City of South San ~ancisco, County of San Mateo, State of California,"
which plans, profiles and specifications were heretofore adopted by said City Council on
the l?th day of Spetember, 1928, and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which
plans, profiles and spedifications reference is hereby made for a full description of said
work and for the location and extent of the work to be done hereunder and for a particular
description of the boundaries of the .district herein mentioned. There is excepted, how-
ever, from the above mentioned work any and all such work as Bas been already done to
official grade.
And said City Council does hereby determine and de'clare that said proposed w~rk
and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and
benefit the lands and district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby
declared to be the district benefitted by said work and improven~nt and that therefore
the entire costs and expenses of said work and improvement shall be and are hereby
made chargeable against and shall be assessed upon said lands and district, except as
hereinafter expressly provided which district is within said City of South San Fran-
cisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly bounded and described
as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point wgere TAhe southeasterly llne of Oak Avenue intersects the nort~-
easterly line of Mission Road in the City of South San ~rancisco; running thence from said
point of beginning northwesterly along the northeasterly line of Mission Road to a point
distant 125 feet at right angles northwesterly from the'northwesterly line of Oak Avenne}
thence northeasterly parallel with and 125 feet at right angles northwesterly from the
northwesterly line of Oak Avenue to the centerline of Grand Avenue; thence easterly along
th~ centerline of Grand Avenue to a point distant 160 feet.westerly from the intersection of
the centerline of Grand Avenue with the westerly line of Chestnut Avenue produced northerly to
interesct said centerline; thence south 15v 33' West ~Jl.?5 feet; thence North V4° 2?' West
88.68 feet to a point distant 140 feet at right angles southeasterly from the southeasterly
line of Oak Avenue; thence southwesterly parallel with and distant 140 feet at right angles
southwasterly from the southeasterly line of Oak Avenue to the northeasterly line of Mission
Road; thence northwesterly along the norhteasterly line of Mission Road to the point of
b e ginning.
Saving and excepting and excluding from said district all public streets, avenues
and allyes, lanes, courts and places included and contained.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear
interest at the rate of seven I?) per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner s
specified in the "Improvement Bond Act of 191§" and the amendments thereto, the last install-
ment of which bonds shall mature nine 19) years from the 2nd day of July next succeding ten
I101 months from their date.
"The Enterprise and The South San ~rancisco Journal", a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published in said City of South San Francisco, is hereby designated
as the newspaper inwhich this resolution of intention shall be published, and the City Clerk
is hereby directed to cause this resolution of intention to be published by two 12) in-
sertions in the manner and form required by law.
The Superintendent ~of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated work or improvement at no~ more than Three Hundred 1300) feet in
distance apart, and along all the open streets within said district and in front of all the
property liable to be assessed and not more than three hundred 1300) feet in distance apart,
but not less than three ~3) in .all in each street in said district, notices of the passage
of this resolution of intention~, in the' manner and form required by the "Improvement Act of
1911" and the amendments thereto.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 22nd day of October, 1928, at the hour
of 7:30 o'clock P. M. in the Chamber of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco,
any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvement may ~ppear
before said City Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried
out in accordance with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein proposed work shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the
"Improvement Act of 1911", approved April ?, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
