OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DIRECTING THE PUBLICA-
TION OF NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR TEE C ONSTR~ETION
OF A~SEWER AND .TWO ~2) ~IANHOLES IN A PORTION
OF SWIFT AVENUE.
RESOZVED by the City Council of.the City of Sbuth San Francisco that public
interest and convenience require that said. City should construct a sewer and two
manholes in the portion of Swift Avenue shown upon the plans hereinafter mentioned.
Said sewer and said manholes shall conform with the plans a~d specifications
therefor filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco, on
the 3rd day of December, 1928, which plans and specifications are hereby adopted for
said purposes,
The City Clerk is hereby direct~ed to publish for two [2) weeks in "The
Enterprise and The South San Francisco Journal," a weekly newspaper of general cir-
culation, printed and published in so. id City of South San Francisco,~ the following
notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for constructing a sewer and two 12) ~:~an-
holes in a portion of Swift Avenue in said City:

Sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco until 7:JO o'clock P,l~t. on ~ionday, the 7th day of January, 1929,
for constructing a sewer and two~ (2) ~anholes in a portion of Swift Avenue in said
City of South San ~rancisco. Said sewer and said manholes shall be constructed in
strict compliance with the plans ~nd specif~ca, tions adopted by the City Council there-
for on the Zrd day of Dece~ber, 1928, and now on file in the office of the City Clerk,
~nd at the location shown u?on said plans.
The bidder to whom the contract may be awarded shall be required to e~ecute
to said City of South San Francisco a bond for the fs. ithful per£or.uauce of his con-
tract in an amo~uut equal to twenty-five (2~) per cent of his ~.dertaking with at
least two 12) responsible sureties in the full ~ount of the bid each. Each pro-
posal must be accompanied with a certieid check upon a solvent bank of the State of
California, payable to the City o£ South San Francisco in e~n amount not less than
(10) per cent of the aggregate of the bid, u?on the condition that, if the proposal

be aeoepted, and the contract awarded, and the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the
contract, the sum mentioned in said check shall be liquidated damages for such failure and
neglect and shall be forfeited and paid into the treasury of the City of South San ~rancisc°.
Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before
?:Z0 o'clock P.E. on Monday the ?th day of January, 1929.
All sealed proposals or bids will be opened by said City Council in public
session on Monday, the ?th day of January, 1929, at ?:50 o:clock P.m. in the Council Chamber
of said City Council.
Th~ City Council hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
