RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San J~rancisco that public interest and convenience require that said City should construct a sign advertising South San Francisco the Industrial City. ~S~i~d sign shall b~ constructe& at the location shown upon the plans~ hereinafter ~me~tioned. Said sign shall conform with the plans and specifications therefor filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco on the Bth day of November, 1928, which plans and specifieatior~ o~re hereby adopted for said purpose. Sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco un~il ?:~0 o'clock p. m. on ~onday, the 7th day of Jsnuary, 1929, for constructing a sign advertising South San Francisco the Industrial City. Said sign shall be constructed in strict compliance with the plaus and specifications ad~,pted by the City Council therefor on the 8th day of November, 19~8, and now on file in the office of the City Clerk, and at the locs. tions shown upon said plans. The bidder to whom the contr.~ct may be awarded shall be req~ired to execute ~o said City of South San Francisco a bond for the faithful perforn~ance of his contract in an amount equal to twenty-five [25) per cent of his undertaking with at 'least two (2) responsible sureties in the full amount of the bid each. Eacg priposal must be accompanied with a cer- tified check upon a solvent bank of the State of California, payable to the City of South San Francisco in an ~%rnount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate of the bid, upon the condition that, if the proposs.1 be accepted, and th~ contract awarded, and the bidder shall fail and neglect to e~ecute the contract, the sur. a mentioned in said check shall be liquidated damages for such fail~mre and neglect and shall be forfeited and paid into the treasury of the City of South San Francisco. Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before ~:~0 o'clock P.E. on ~onday, the 7th day of J~nuzry, 1929. All sealed proposals or bids will be opened by said City Council in public session on ~onday~ the ?th day of January, 1929, at 7:~0 o'clock P,E. in the Council Cha~mber of said City Council.
