California in which telephone rates in portions of the area about San Francisco
Bay are invelved; and
~HEREAS the industrial area of South San Francisco lies in close l~eximity
to the primary area for telephone rates in the City and County of San Francisco ;and
WF. EREAS the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company has heretofore included
in its Oakland primary rate area, all the territory between Albany and San Leandre
inc l~ ~ ve; and
W~AEREAS the industrial area of South San Francisco is nearer in distance
to the center of the City and County of San Francisco, than either San Leandro or
Albany is to the center of Oakland; and
WHEREAS a discrimination exists against the industrial area of South San
Francisco in telephone ra. tes with respect to territory similarly situated in dis-
tahoe from Oakland; end ~

.RESOLVED by the city Ceuncil of the City of South San Franc isco that the
Railroad Commission of the State of California be, and hereby is requested, to in-
ciude in the primary telephone rate area of San Francisco the industrial area of
South San Francisco, and that all industries located in South San Francisco be
accorded the same telephone rates as those pr~ided for industries in the primary
t,~lephone rate area of San Francisco.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this l?th day
