RESOLUTION ENDORSING APPLICATION OF THE WESTERN PACIFIC CALI~)RNIA
RAILROAD FOR PERMIBSION TO CONSTRUCT A RAILROAD ~R0~I SAN FRANCISCO
TO REDW00 D CITY
WHEREAS, there is pending before the Interstate Commerce Commission of the
Nnited State an application of the Western P~cific California Railroad Company for a cer-
tificate of public necessity and convenience for the construction and operation of a
railroad from San Francisco to Redwood City; and
WHEREAS, the construction and operation of the proposed Western Pacific
line will ~romote industrial expansion, cause new in~dustries to be 'established, provide
desirable rail competition, result in increase business and add to our population and
taxable wealth; and
WH~2~EAS, we, the undersigned members of the' So~th San Francisco City Council
assembled in meeting at South San Francisco on Tuesday, January 8, 1929, £irmly believe
that the construction and operation of the proposed line will be in the best interest of
South San Francisco and other cities and towns of S~n N~teo County; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that we hereby endorse said application and that the Interstate
Commerce Commission be urged to grant the same; and be it further
RES0EVED, that a certi~ie~: c opy.v,of.this ' r~solUtion h~ present:.t~ .the, Inter-
state:.-Comme=ce:· CommiSsion and that a committee be appointed by the N~yor to represent
the City Council of South San Francisco ~t the hearing to be held by the Interestate
Commerce Commission Examiner at San Francisco on January l?, 1929.
