~ WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, in open session,
on the 6th day of January, 19~0, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed pro-
posals or bids for doing all the improvement work described in Resolution of Intention
No. 68, which resolution of intention was passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco on the 18th day of ~ovember, 1929, to which resolution
of intention reference is hereby made for a description of ~said work and the assess-
ment district in said resolution of intention described.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and
be~r interest at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum will be issued hereunder
in the manner specified in the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915" and the amendments
thereto, the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the
2nd day of July ne×t succeeding ten Il0) months from their date.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein '~roposed work shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as
the "Improvement Act o£ 1911", approved. April 7, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
Resolved ~hat said City Council hereby rejects all said proposals or bids, ex-
cept that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the co~':~tract for doing ss, id work
and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: The Fay I~provement
Company, a corporation, at the prices named in its bid, to-wit:
Item 1. For grading in all clas~es of material for all classes of work except
sewer work including prepar~tion of the' subgrade for pavements, curb, gutter o~nd
sidewalks and including the removal of existing curb, gutter ~nd sidewalk complete,
with all incidental work, the s~nu of Eighty-three cents ($0.83) per cubic yard.
Item 2. Constructi~on of combined hy. draulic cement concrete curb with ~utter
six feet in width, the .... um of One and 60/100 Dollars ($1.60) per lineal foo~.
Item Z. Construction of co~:~bined hydr~ulic cement concrete curb with gutter
three feet in width, the sum of One Dollar (~l.00) per lineal foot.
Item 4. Conc~ruction of co~:~bined hydraulic cen~,ent concrete curb with gutter
two feet in width, the sum of Eighty-two cents 1~0.82) per lineal foot.
Item 5. Construction of combined hydraulic cement concrete curb with gutter
fourteen inches in width, the sum of Si:,~ty-six cents i$0.66) per lineal foot.
Item 6. Construction of hydraulic cement concrete gutter only six feet in
width, the sum of One and ~0/100 Dollars /~l.20) per lineal foot.
Item 7. Construction of hydraulic ce~aent concrete gutter only three feet
in width, the sum of Sixty-cents (~0.60) per lineal foot.
Item 8. Conetruction of hydraulic cement concrete curb the sum of Forty-nine
cents ($0.49) per lineal foot.
Item 9, Construction of cement concrete side ~alks the sum of Thirteen
and seventy-five hundredths cents ($0.1375) per square foot.
Item 10. Construction of hydraulic ce~':~ent concrete base pavement six
inches in thickness, the sum of One and forty-eight hundreds cen~ts (~0.148) per
square foot.
Item 11, Construction of asphaltic concrete wearing surface in all locations
and all thickness, as more particularly shown on the plans, the sum of Five and
30/1.00 Dollars ~5.30) per tan in Place including all incidental work,
Item 12. Construction of steel reinforced hydraulic cement concrete
structures for supporting sidewalks, the sum of Twenty-four Dollars ($24.00) per
cubic yard for concrete in place complete including all incidental work.
Item 1Z. Construction of 12" diameter concrete pipe storm water sewer the sum
of One and b6/100 Dolls, rs ($1.56) per lineal foot.
Item 14. Construction of lb" diameter concrete pipe storm water sewer the
sum of Two and 28/100 Dol~lars (~2.28) per lineal ±°oct.
Item lb. Construction of 18" diameter concrete piep s~orm water sewer the
sum of Two and 82/100 Dollars (~2.82) per lineal foot.
Item 16. Conetruction of red burnt brick catchbasins Capped with czst iron
frames -~nd gratings the sum of Sixty-nine and b0/100 Dollars ($69.b0)~each.
Item 17. ConstruCtion of 6" diameter vitrified pipe sanitary sewer the sum
of Ninety-six cents ($0.96) per lineal foot. ~
Item 18. Construction of 4" diameter vitrified pipe lateral sewer the sum
of Seventy-six cents (~0.76) per lineal foot. ~
($0.50) each.
Item 19. Construction of 6" x 4" wye branches the sum of Fifty cents
Item 20. Construction of red burnt brick manholes capped with cast iron
frames and covers the sum. of Fifty-four Dollars ($54.00) each.
Item 21. Construction of ornamental street lighting system complete in-
cluding furnishing and installing e.lectroliers, lamDs, lighting unit, safety coils, con-
crete foundations, conduit cable, connections to power source and all incidental work com-
plete including also removal of ixisting electroliers, conduit and cable,.making connection
to existing circuit, lowering and connecting existing conduit, installing new cable in
existing conduit and all incidental work in connection with s~mh electrolier system, the
sum of Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-six Dollars (~16,556.00) complete.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notices of this award con-
spicuously for f'ive (5) days, on or near the Council Chamber Door of this Council, and
also to publish this notice by two (2) insertions in ~"The Enterprise and the South San
Francisco Journal".

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 20th day of
January, 1930, by the following vote:
