IN TME~ MATTER 0F TH~ VACATION 0F BIRCH AVENUE FROM SPRUCE AVENUE TO PARK
WAY IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, a
munic~ipal corporation in the County of San Mateo, State of California, that public
interest and convenience require and tb~t it is the intention of said City Council
to order the following street work to be done in said City, to-wit:
That that-portion of Birch Avenue in said City of South San Francisco
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the westerly line of Birch Avenue, said point
being alos the most southwasterly corner of Lot No. lO in Block lo. 8, as said lot
and block are shown on that certain map entitled "Parkway Terrace", filed for record'
December PS, 1926, in Volume 14 of Maps at pages 63 and 64, San Mateo County Records;
running thence from said point of beginning South ?4° 27' East 50 feet; thence South
15° 33' West $3.98 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the left tangent at its
beginning to the last mentioned line, and having a radius of 75 feet, a distance of
64.30 feet; thence South 330 34' 18" East 2S.63 feet; thence on the arc of a curve
to the right, tangent at its beginning to the last mentioned line, and having a radius
of 160 feet a distance of 79.61 feet to the northwesterly line of Spruce Avenue;

thence South 56 25 42 W~st 75.13 feet. thence North lB 33 East 23.26 feet; thence
on the arc of a curve to the left t~ngent at its beginning to the last mentioned line
and ha~ing a radius of ?9.8? feet, a distance of 68.~9 feet; thence North 33o 34' 18"
West 2J.63 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the right, tangent at its. beginning
to the last mentioned line and having a radius of 125 feet, a distance of 107.16 feet;
thence North 1~o 33' East 83.98 feet to the point of b~ginning, be vacated ~nd closed
up in whole.
That it,is unnecessary to take any land therefor.
That the following described district of land is hereby declared to be
the district affected and benefitted by said work and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses thereof and that sa~idistrict is situated in the City of South San Fran-
cisco, County of San Mateo,~ State of California, and the exterior boundaries thereof
are p~rticularly described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point on the southerly line of Park Way Where said line
is intersected by the line dividing Lots 8 and 9, Block 8, as sa~d lot and block
are shown on that certain map entitled "Parkway Terrace", filed for record December
23, 1926, in Volume l~ of Maps at pages 63~ and 64, San Mateo County Records; running
thence from said point of beginning on and along said southerly line of Park Way
South ?40 27' East 51.3~ feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the right tangent
at its beginning to the last mentioned line, and having a radius of 40 feet, a dis-
tance of 62.83 feet; thence South 15° 33' West 60 feet; thence South ?40 27' East
50 feet; thence North 15o Z~' East 29.54 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the
right having a radius of l0 feet and a central angle of 130o B4', tangent at its
beginning to the last mentioned line, a^~istance of 22.84 feet; thence along the
southwesterly line of Park Way South 3~~ 31' East 3~.14 feet; thence on the arc of
a curve to the left, tangent at its beginning' to the last mentioned line and having
a radius of 335.00 feet, a~distance of 90.37 feet; thence leaving the southwesterly

North 740 27' West 148.37 feet; thence North 15° 33' East 205,02 feet to the
southerly line of the aforesaid Lot 8, Block 8, Park Way Terrace; thence South 74°
27~ East 36.80 feet to the line dividing Lots 8 and 9 in the said Block 8, Park
Way Terrace, and thence following said dividing line North 15o 33' East 100 feet
to the point of beginning.
All of the herein,proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an
act'of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "An act ~o provide
for paying out, opening, extending, widening, straightening or closing up, in
whole or in part, any street, square, lane, alley, court, or place within
municipalities, and to condemn and acquire any and all land and property nec-
essary or convenient for that purpose",.approved March 6, 1889, and the several
acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
The street superintendent is hereby directed to cause to be con-

thence South 56° 25' 42" west 75.13 feet; thence North 15° 33' East 23.26 feet; thence
on the arc of a curve to the left tangent at its beginning to the last mentioned line
and ha, ring a radius of 79.8? feet, a distance of 68.49 feet; thence North 33o 34' 18"
West 23.63 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the right, tangent at its beginning
to the last mentioned line and having a radius of 125 feet, a distance of 107.16 feet;

southerly line of the aforesaid Lot 8, Block 8, Park Way Terrace; thence South ?4°
27~ East 36.80 feet to the line dividing Lots 8 and 9 in the said Block 8, Park
Way Terrace, and thence following said dividing line North 15o 33' East 100 feet
to the point of beginning.

spicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work or improvement
notices of the passage of this resolution in the 'manner and form required by
law. Said street superintendent is likewise directed also to cause a notice
similar in substance to be published by four (4) successive insertions in
"The Enterprise and the South San Francisco Journal", a weekly newspaper
published and circulated in said City of South San Francisco, which newspaper
is hereby designated by said City Council as the newspaper in which said street
superintenaent's notice of passage of this resolution shall be published.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
this 19th day of May, 1930, by the following vote:
