IN T~E MATTER OF THE APPLICATION 0~ THE CITY 0P SOUTE
SAN FRANCISCO FOR A READJUS~IENT OP RATES CHARGED BY
PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR ELECTRICITY.
WHEREAS it appears to the City Council of the City of South San
~rancisco that Modesto Irrigation District has commenced proceedings be-
fore the Railroad Cormnission of the State of California with respect to
the rates charged by pacific Gas and ~Electric Company for electricity; and
WHF2bEAS the ,City Council is informed that a discrimination exists
with respect to the rates now charged for electricity in this City and
believes that it will be bene'ficial to the City of South San Franc_' sco to
Join with other cities in Central Cglifornia in an attempt to cause a
readjustment of the electricity rates charged by Pacific Gas and Electric
Company in this region; and
~VH~S, Louis Bartlett, an attorney in the Claus Spreckles Building
San Francisco, Cs. lifornia, is representi~ said Modesto Irrigation District
and is willing ~o represent this and other cities in this matter without
charge to the City of South San Francisco;
RESOLVED by~ the City Council of the City of South Ss~n ~rancisco
that this City join in the movement proposed to remove discrimination in
such electrical rates and that the ~,~ayor of this City and the City Attorney
be and they hereby are ~uthorized and directed in behalf of said City and
in its n~me to file with said Railroad Commission a petition asking for
relief against what appears to this City Council to be an unjust discrimin-
ation against electricity consumers in this City, and that said Louis
Bartlett be, ~nd he is hereby requested to aid in said matter, but without
cost to said City.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly in-
troduced and ado!~ ed by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco,
this 18th day of February, 19Z1, by the following vote:
