%'~ERRAS weeds are now growing upon the streets-of'South San Francisco designated
as follows· to-wit:
Palm Avenue, Poplar Avenue, Locust Avenue, Green Avenue each for the full length
thereof, Chestnut Avenue from the north line of Commercial Avenue to the south line
of Fifth Lane and Division S~reet from the north line of Grand Avenue to the south
line of California Avenue; and
~EEEAS said weeds have obtained such a large growth as to become a fire menace
when said weeds skall become dry and are dangerous;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of ~outh San Francisco that the weeds
growing on all the portions of the streets hereinbefore described be, and the same here-
by are declared to be a public ~uisance and that it is the intention of said City
Council to order said nuisance to be abated;
Said City Council hereby determines and declares that said nuisance e~ists in
front of the following described property, all of which is situated in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San ~ateo, State of California, and particularly describe,
gs follows, to-wit:
Lot 1 in Block 5; Lots £6 and L? in Block 4; Lots ~ to l& inclusive in Block 1,
as shovm upon the map. of Park Way Terrace, ¥~ich map is now on file and of record in
the office of the County Recorder of.the County of San ~teo, Californial Lots 5 to 18
inclusive in Block 5, and Lot I in Block 5, Lot 5 in Block 6; Lot I Dn Block 7; Lot
I and Lots~ to ~l, inclusive, in Block 4, all as shown upon said map of Park Way
Terrane; Lots l~, 14, ~? and £9, in Block 95,'and Lo~s 1E and 14 in Block 94, .Lot £0
in Block 76, Lots ~30 and £1 in Block ~7, Lots E0 and £1 in Block 78, Lots S0 and ~l
in Block 79, all as shown upon that certain map entitled "South San Francisco, 'San
~teo Co. Cal Plat No. l" ~hich map was filed in the office of the County Recorder

of the County of San ~teo, California, Earch l, 189S, and recorded in Eap Bo'ok No. ~
at page 5£. A strip of land 100 feet in depth bordering u~3on that portion of Chestnut
Avenue extending from the northerly boundary line of Commercial Avenue, pro~ected
westerly, to the southerly line of Fifth Lane, pro~ected westerly, but exce~ting from
said strip of land the intersection of said strip with Grand Avenue; Lots ?, 8 and 9,
in Block F, Lot 14 in Block T, Lot I in Block S, Lots l, 9, ll, lZ, 15 and 17 in Bock
E, as shown upon that certain map entitled,"Nap of Peck's Subdivision No. l, South
San Francisco, San ~teo Co, Cal.", which map was filed in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of San ~ateo, California, June'S4, 1907, in Book 5 of Original
Naps at page ll; lots l, 7, 8 and 9, as shown upon that certain map entitled "Hough~s
Subdivision of Lots 1, ~, Z, 4, 5 and 6, Block 147, South San Francisco, California,"
which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of~the County of San ~iateo,
California, August l, 190Z, and recorded in Book 5 of ~iaps at page &0, Lots ? to £~,
inclusive, in Block 1~7, and Lots I to l~, inclusive, in Block 150, as sho~n upon
said map entitled, "South San Francisco, San ~ateo Co. Cal Plat No. l"

The Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously
posted in front of all property in front of which said nuisance exists, and not more
then one hundred (100) feet in distance apart, but not less than three (~) in all,
notices headed "~otice to Destroy Weeds" in the manner and form required by law.
'All of the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be done in
pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "An act
authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the
streets or sidewalks, or upon private property ~ithin municipalities, to be a public
nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks
or u~.on wLich such nuisance exists for the costs of abating the same", approved ~ay
~6th, 1915.

The foregoing resolution of intention was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 4th day of ~y, 1951, by
the following vote:
