A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE PURCHASE OF A BUICK
AUTOMOBILE ~OR THE CITY: OF SOUTH ~AN FRANCISCO.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
public interest and convenience require that ~aid City should purchase for the u~e
of the Police Department of said City, a Buick automobile of the type desiznated as
Model S2-87 Regular, such automobile to have a wheel base 'one hundred and twenty-
six 1128} inches in length, shatter proof glass, one hundred and four (10A} horse
power and to be equipped with 18-700 tires and covers for the upholsteri~. The
bidder to whom the co~tract will be awarded for such Buick automobile shall pur-
chase of said City the Buick touring car now owned by said City of South San ~ran-
cisco, and used in the Police Department of said City, and the sum of money
offered for said last mentioned Buick car shall be applied upon the purchase price
for the one to 'be ac~uired.
The City Clerk of said City of South Ban Francisco is hereby directed
to publish for two 121 weeks in "The~Enterprise and The South San Francisco Journal,"
a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in ~aid City of South San
Francisco, the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for such Buick
autom0b lie: ~
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOBAL$ OR BIDS FOR FURNISHING A
BUICK AUTOMOBILE TO ~THE CITY OF SOUTH BAN FRANCISCO.
Sealed proposals will be received by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco until ?:Z0 o'clock p. m. on Monday, the ?th day of December,
19Z1, for furnishing a new Buick automobile to said City of South San Francisco,
County of San Mateo, ~tate of California. Such Buick automobile shall be of the
type designated as Model ~-87 Regular and such automobile shall have a wheel base one
hundred and twenty-six 11261 inches in length, shatter proof ~lass. one hundred
and four ~IOA) horse power and shall be equipped with 18-700 tires, and covers
for the upholstering.
Each bidder shall, in conjunction with his bid, offer to purchase
the Buick touring car now owned by said City of South San Francisco &nd now
used by the Police Department of said City. The amount of such offer shall be
applied upon the purchase price of such new Buick automobile in the event of an
award of contract, pursuant to this notice, and a transfer of said Buick tour-
ing care now owned by said City to the auccessful bidder.
No bid shall be cons. idered by said City Council unless the same
is accompanied by an o±'fer to purchase the Buick touring car now owned by said
City.
Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on
or before ?:Z0 o'clock p. m. on Monday, the ?th day of December, 19~1. All
sealed proposal~ or bide will be opened by said City Council in public session
on Monday, the ?th day of December, 19Z1, at ?:ZO o'clock p. m. zt the council
chamber of said City Council. The City Council hereby reserves the right to
reject any and all bids.
