RESOLUTION REQUIRING PURCAHSE OP MATERIA~ IN
SAN NATEO COUNTY P0R WORK DONE IN COUNTY, PRICE
AND QUALITY BEING EQUAL.
WHERW~AS, it appears to the City Council of the City of South San
Prancisco that the use of materials manufactured in San Marco County will assist
in relieving the unemployment situation with which we are confronted, and will
encourage the employment of more men in San Mateo County industries, and
WHEREAa, through the operation of National Industrial Recovery Act
codes of fair competition, price and quality are virtually fixed on an equal basis.
THERE~0RE BE IT REa0LVED, AND IT Ia NE~y ORDERED that in every
plan, specification and contract for work to be done by the said City of South aah
Prancisco at the expense of the taxpayers of said City whether such work be done
directly by or under, such contract duly awarded or whether such work be done in-
directlY by or under such contract, sub-cont.ract, sub-partnership, day labor,
station work, piece work, or any other arrangement whatsoever, must and shall
provide that eo far as possible preference shall be given to contractors using
goods, wares or merchandise manufactured or produced in aan Mateo County where
prices and qualities are equal.
Be it Further resolved, and it is hereby ordered that this re-
solution shall take effect and be operative on and from the date of its adoption
this 18th day of June, 19~.
