Whereas,the San Francisco,-0akland Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge will be comple
within the next two years and will offer to the home coming comn~uter superior rapid transit
accon:~:odations out of San Francisco to East Bay and North Fay cities, and
~ ,R=AS the natural growth and development of ~an i~,atel County depends upon equal
facilities and accommodations and a si~ilar rapid transit system, if ~'-e are to maintain our
present position as an ide:l residential section of the metropolitan district, and
::HEREAB., to cooperate with San Francisco or an~ other cities or counties within the
:etropolitan district we must have ah enabling act which will give the citizens of San ~'ateo
County equal rights in the metrooolitan commuting zone, and
'~,~w^,2 such an enabling act designated by its number as Senate Bill =~ is now in
Senator's ~,~cGovern's cor~m, ittee on ~funicipal Corporations for final consideration on Wednesday,
April lVth,1935.
!~W, '~'~:E!::EFORE, BE IT RE~0%~D, that this council does hereby approve the adoption
of ~$enate Bill ~511 which will enable the ctti:ens of 2an i~ateo County to have an equal voice
With other cities of the ~etropolitan district in ~laur~in~ e~d controlling the development of
transoortation in the future.

resolution of a:,proval from this 8ouncil to Sanator Parkman and Assembl,~:man ~e ersou of ti:is
County, and, also to Senator ~ alter i:cCovern at ~acramento ~sking them to give it their suppo~
