IN PECKtS LOTS.
RES0~jVED by the City Council of the City of 'South San Francisco that permission
be, and the same hereby is g ranted to South San Francisco Land and Improvement Company
to excavate quantities of earth from the subdivision of said City of South San Francisco
known as "Peck's Lots", and, in connection with such excavating, to do blas~.ing with ex-
plosives, but in such manner as to safeguard lives of persons and ~property in the vicinity
of the excavating work. The permission hereby grauted shall not become effective until
said South San Francisco Land and Improvement Company shall file, or cause to be filed, in
the office of the City Clerk of said city a policy of insurance, underwritten by a reliable
insurance company qualified to transact business in the State of California, in the amount
of One Hundred Thousand Dollars (~$100 000.00), which policy of insurance shall inure to the
benefit of and protect all persons dwelling in said subdivision, and all persons who may
have occasion to enter upon the property of said subdivision during the time such excavating
work is being carried on, and all property of every character within said subdivision, incl-
uding public streets and all improvements upon said public streets, Such policy of insurauce
shall likewise save and hold said City of South San Francisco harmless from and against
every kind of liability ~hich may arise from the performance of the excavation work hereby
authori zed.
By the acceptance of the provisions of this resolution, and the commencement of the
excavation work hereby authorized and contemplated hereunder, said Gouth San Francisco
Land and Improvement Comp~uy will agree to repair any damage which may b e done to any
street or streets of said subdivision by the transportation of any excavated materials
over such streets, provided such damages shall not exceed ~00.00 in amount.

I mhereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this ~Sth day of April, 19G8, by
the following vote:
