RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREemENT WITH
REFERENCE TO ACCU~ULATION OF ONE-QUARTER CENT GAS
TAX ALLOCATION FOR STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 194 and Section 195 of the
Streets and Highways Code, the Department of Public Works of the State of California shall
expend or cause to be expended from the State Highway Fuud an amount equal to the net rem
venue derived from one-quarter cent per gallon tax on motor vehicle fuel upon streets of
major importance, other than State Hig~hways, as are agreed upon by said Department and
the legislative body of the City of South San Francisco, in the proportion that the total
population of each city bears to the total population of all cities in this State; and
WHEREAS said City of South San Francisco, under the provisions of Section 200
of the Streets and Highways Code, desires to authorize the accumulation of funds ac-
cruing from the one-quarter cent per gallon tax on gasoline allocated under the' pro-
visions of Sections 194 and 195 for expenditure in the City of South San Francisco upon
streets of major importance, other than State Highways, for the period ending June 30, 1938
and for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1937;
RESOLVED by the City Co%mcil of the City of South San Francisco that said City of
South San Francisco enter into an agreement with the State of California Department of
Public Works wherein it shall be provided that said Department of Public Works will
accumulate and hold for future expenditure within said City of South San Francisco all
funds accruing from the one-quarter cent gas tax allocation for streets of major impor-
tance during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1936, and for the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1937.
The Mayor of said City of South San Francisco and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed, in the name of said City of South San Francisco and un, er its
seal, to execute the agreement hereby authorized.
