OF NOTICE INVITI~G SEALED

A!~D FITTINGS.
RESOLVE~ by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and
convenience require that said City of South San Francisco shall purchase the pipe, valves and
fittings for water system in Orange Avenye P~r~n the City of South San Francisco,mentioned and
referred to in the specifications hereinafter mentioned.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish, by two (2)insertions in"~he Enterprise and
South San Francisco Journal"~ a newspaper of .zeneral circulation published and circulated in
said ~ity of South San Francisco, a notice inviting sealed proposals for the same in
substantially the following form;

Sealed proposals will be received by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco until 8 o'clock p.m. on ~onday the ~rd day of August,19Z8, for furnishinM to said
City of South San Francisco, pipe, vavves and fittings for water system in Orange Avenue ~ark
in the City of South San Francisco.

with the s~ecial soecifications for the same, which specifications are no~v on file in the o
office of the City Clerk, to which reference is hereby made for further particulars.
The successful bidder shall, within l0 days (10) after the award, enter into a contract
with~ the City of South San Francisco to ~r~ish said pipe,calves and fittinMs to said city.
All proposals must be accompanied by~a-~certified check upon a solvent bank of the
State of California, payable to the City of South San Francisco, in an amount not less than ten
percent (10%) of thea,~ora~oate of the bid,upon the condition that,if the proposal be accep-
ted and the contract awarded and if the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute the con-
tract and give to said City of South San Francisco the bond required, the s~nu mentione~ in
said bond shall be liquidated damages for such failure and neglect and it shall be forfeited
to and paid into the treasury of the City of South San Francisco.
The bidder to whom the contract is awarded will b~ required to execute a bond for
the fait~ful performance of his contract in amount equal to fifty percent (~0%) of the total
contract price, with at least two (~) responsible sureties for the full amou~t of the bid
each.
Sealed propsals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk on or before 8:00
o'clock p.m. on ~.~onday the third day of August, l~SO.
All sealed proposals will be opened bT~ said City Council in public session on
~.~onday, the 3rd day of ~__A_u_~u~st , 1936, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chamber
in ~-~-~ City Hall of said City, of South San Francisco.
The City Council reserves the ril~ht to reject any and all bids.
