1938 BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, in the session of the_legislature of the State of California held in
1925, there as passed an act entitled "An act granting to the city of South San Francisco
the salt marsh, tide and submerged land of the State of California, including the right
of wharf out therefrom to the city of South San F~ancisco and regulating the management,
use and control thereof," whi. ch act was approved April 10, 1925; and
WHEREAS the land hereinafter described is a portion of the land cove red by the
above mentioned act, which land consists of those certain tracts or parcels of land situate
in the City of Seth San Francisco, 0ounty of San Mateo, State ~of California, and particulary
described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL
That certain parcel of land situate in the City of South San Francisco, County of
San Mateo, State of California, and bounded by the following described line:
BEGINNING at point 24 on the Southerly boundary line of the Navigable~Sloughin
Sections 27 and 28, Township 5 South Range 5 West Mount Diablo base and mex~ld ian, as said
point ~d Slough are shown on that certain map entitled, "MaP of a Survey made for P. E. Iler,
of Lands Purchased in the~Buri Bu~i Rancho and Sections 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 T
3 S R 5 W," filed for record in Book E of Maps at page 79, San Mateo County Records; thence
from said~int of beginning along the Southerly, Westerly, and Northerly boundary lines of
said Navigable ~lough South 75° 17t 50" West 171.60 feet, North 89° 27' 50" West 227.V0 feet,
North 79° 27' 50" Wes; 511.50 feet, North 54° 27' 50" ~est 582.78 feet, North 230 42' 30" East
547.$0 feet, No~th 890 52t 50" East 448.80 feet, and.~No~th 55° 52' 50" East 402.87 feet to a
point in the Southwesterly boundary line of that certain State Highway designs ted IV S. M. 68 B,
being more commonly known as the Baysho~e Highway; thence leavi~ said boundary line of said
Navigable Slough South 25° 25' ~0" East along said Southwesterly boundary line qf said Highway
95.53 feet to a point in the Southerly boundax~y line of said Navigable Slough; thence leaving
said Southwesterly bounda!'y line of sai~Highway and along the Southerly boundary line of said
Navigable Slough South 54° 47' 50" West ~12.99 feet to the point of beginning, containing 6.1760
acres, more or less, and being a part of the Navigable Slough in Sections 27 and 28, Township
3 South Rage 5 West, Mount Diablo base and meridian as said Navigable Slough' is shown on the
hereinbefore mentioned map.
PARCEL II.
That certain parcel of land situated in the City of South San Francisco, County of San
Mateo, State of California, and bounded by the following described line:
BEGINNINGat point 21 on the Southerly boundary line of the Navigable Slough in Section
Township 3 South Range 5 West Mount Diablo base and meridian, as said point and Slough are shown
on that certain Map entitled, ";ap of a Sua-vey Made for P. E. Iller of Lands purchased in the
Buri Buri Rancho and Sections 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 25, 27 and 28, T. 3 S R 5 W,"filed for recox~i in
Book E of Maps at .pa~e 79, San Mate~ County Records~ thence f~om said_point of beginning along
the Southerl~ bounda~ line of said Navigable Slough North 61u ~V' 30" W_est 531.30 feet to point
22, North 78° 57' 30" West 384.12 feet to point 23 and South 54 47~ 30" West 310e57' to a
point on the Northeasterly boundary line of that certain State Highway desig hated IV S. M. 68
B, being more commonly knom as the Bayshore Highway; thence leaving said boundary line of said
Navigable Slough North 25o 25' 30" West, along said ~ortheasterly boundary Ii ne of said Highway
142.36' to a point in the Northerly boundary line of said Navigable Slough; t hence leaving
the Northeasterly boundary line of said Highway and along the northerly boundary line of said
Navigable Slough North 32o 02~ 30" Nast 185.75~ to point 18, North 72o 02~ 30" East 318.78 feet
to point iV, North 89° 32' 30" East 287.30 feet to point 18, South 85° 57' 30" East 279.84 feet
to point 15 and South 60° :42' .30" East 355.28 feet to point 14; thence leaving the said Northerly
boundary line of said Navigable Slough South 12° 49' 30" West 2~3.35 feet to the point of beginning;
containing 6.792 acres, more or less, and being a part of the Navigable Slough in Section 27, Town-
ship 3 South Range 5 West, Mount Diablo base and meridian, as said Navigable Slough is sh~wn on the
hereinbefore mentioned map; and
WHEREAS, in the~pinion of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, the land
hereinbefore described is useless for the promotion or accommodation of commerce and navigation
and is also useless for the establishment, improvement and ~onduct of a harbor, and for the con-
struction, maintenance or operation of wharves, piers, slips, quays or other utility, structures
and appliances necessary or convenient for the promotion and accommodation of commerce and
navigation; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of said City Council, said land m~y be f~Lled a~ reclaimed and
may be used for industrial purposes, by reason of the fact that said land fo res a part of an
area of sai~ city which can be developed for industrial purposes;
RESOLED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council
~ecommends the adoption of assembly bill number 1938 by the legislature of the State of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDthat Senator Harry L. Parkman and Assemblyman H. W. Call be, and
they hereby are respectively requested to give their support to the passage o f said bill.
