HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 601-1937 WP~REAS, there is pending in the Ewb1~bition and Fairs Committee of the California Assembly, Assembly Bill #252 which provides for an appropriation of $5,000,000, for a State exhibit for the purpose of advertising the State of California at the Golden Gate Internation Exposition in 1939, and WHEREAS, this bill further provides funds for a California Build- ing, which will be the "host building" of the Exposition, and scenic attractions, wild life, educational, recreational, and administrative features of the State, and WHEREA~, every other State in the West has taken steps to participate in the Exposition and to share in the economic benefits to be gained therefrom, and WHEREAS, the excess revenue to be derived from the Sales and Gasoline Taxes by the money that will be expended in California during and because of the Exposition, will be in excess of eleven million dollars ($11,000,000), THEREFORE BE IT RE~VED, that the City of Bouth San Francisco, being cognizant of the benefits which will accrue to the State and to is counties and cities from the Exposition as a whole and from an adequate State and County exhibit in partic~a~ do~s:~hereby endorse and u~ge passage of said Assembly Bill #252~ be sent to THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution · -,-,-,-,-,-,-.-,-,-,.
