HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 606-1937RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BIDS FOR AUTOMOBILE FOR TM POLICE DEPARI~NT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. RESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and convenience require ~that said city should purchase for the use of the police department of said city a Buick automobile of the type de- signated as Buick 8, model 81. Such automobile shall be l~lly equipped and it shall have five wheels and five six ply heavy duty tires, and covers for the upholstering. The bidder to whom the contract will be awarded for such Buick automobile shall purchase of said city the Buick sedan designated with engine No. $J122~49, now owned by said city of South San Francisco and used in the police department of said city, and the sum of money offered for said last mentioned Buick automobile shall be applied upon the purchase price for the one to be acquired. Said bidder will also be required to transfer the siren, red light and spot light of said auotmobile now owned by said city to the auto- mobile to be acquired. Said Automobile to be acquired shall have an extra generator and extra battery. The City Clerk of said city of South San Francisco is hereby direct- ed to publish by two (2) insertions in "The Enterprise and The South San Fr~w- cisco Journal", a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in said city of South San Francisco, the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for such Buick automobile: NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS F OR FURNISHING A BUICK AUTOMOBILE TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. Sealed proposals will be received by the city council of the city of SouSh San Francisco until 8.00 o'clock p. m. on Monday, the 21st day of June, 1937, for furnishing a new Buick automobile to said city of South San Francisco. Such Buick automobile shall be of the type designated as Buick 8, model $1. Such automobile shall be fully equipped and shall have five wheels and five six ply heavy duty tires, and covers for the upholstering. Said automobile shall be equipped with an extra generator and extra battery. Each bidder shall, in c~nJunction with his bid, offer to purchase the Buick automobile designated with engine No. 68122~49, now owned by said City of South San Francisco and used by the police department of said city. The amount of such offer shall be applied upon the purchase price of such new Buick automo- bile, in the event of an award of contract, pursuant to this notice, and a trans- fer of said Buick automobile, now owned by said city to the successful bidder. 110 Buick The bidder, to whom a contract may be awarded for the purchase of such new/automobile,will be required to transfer from the Buick automobile now owned by said city the siren, red light and spot light to such new automobile. Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the city clerk on or before 8:00 o'clock p. m. on Monday, the 21st day of June, 193~ Ail sealed propos- als or bids will be opened by the city council in public session on Monday, the 21st day of June, 193~, at 8;00 o'clock p. m. in the council chamber of said city council.
