HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 679-1938No. 679 RESOLUTION '"D" WHEREAS the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation in the County of San Mateo, State of California, has no central fire station adequate to the needs of said city at this time, or the necessary equipment therefore, and has no combination pumping engine and hose wagon and has no aerial ladder truck; RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council does hereby determine that public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction and completion by said City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation, of a central fire station and furnishings and equipment for said fire station and the acquisition of the land necessary for such fire station and the aqquisition ora combin- ation pumping engine and hose wagon, and the acquisition of an aerial ladder truck with~ a sixty-five (65) foot ladder; that the acquisition, construction and completion of said central fire station and furnishings and equipment for said fire station and the acquis- ition of the land necessary for such fire station and the acquisition of a combination pumping engine and hose wagon, and the acquisition of an aerial ladder truck with a sixty-five (65) foot ladder are convenient and necessary to carry out the objects, pur- poses and powers of said city; that the estimated cost of the acquisition, comstruction and completion of said central fire station and furnishings and equipment for said fire station and the acquisition of the land necessary for such fire station and the estimat- ed cost of the acquisition of a combination pumping engine and hose wagon,~and the est- imated cost of the acquistion of an aerial ladder truck with a sixty-five (65) foot ladder amount to One Hundred and Twelve Thousand Dollars ($112,000.00); that the cost of the acquisition, construction and completion of said eentral fire station and fux~ nishings and equipment for said fire station and the acquisition of.the land necessary for such fire station and of the acquisition of a combination pumping engine and hose wagon, and of the acquisitiOn of an aerial ladder truck with a sixty-five (65) foot ladder will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City of South San Francisco, and will, in addition to the other expenditures of said City of South San Francisco, exceed the income and revenue for any one year; that it is the intention of said City Council to call a special election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City of South San Francisco the proposit- ion of incurring a debt in the sum of Sixty-seven Thousand Dollars ($67,000.00) for the purpose of acquiring, constructing and completing a central fire station and furnish- ings and equipment for said fire station and the acquistion of the land necessary for such fire station and for the purpose of acquiring a combination pumping engine and hose wagon and for the purpose of acquiring an aerial ladder truck with a sixty-five (65) foot ladder. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-.-,- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 22nd day of August, 1988, by the following vote, the same being not less than two-thirds (2/~) of all members of said City Council: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, ~ouncilmen V.
