RESOLUTION APPROVING BOND OF PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY EXECUTED IN
CONSIDERATION OF THE GRANT BY THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO OF THE FRAN-
CHISE TO USE THE STREETS OF SAID CITY FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND DISBRIBUTION
OF GAS FOR ALL PURPOSES OTHER THAN THOSE AUTHORIZED UNDER SECTION 19 OF
ARTICLE XI OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS SAID SECTION
EXISTED PRIOR TO ITS AMENDMENT ON OCTOBER 10 1911.
WHEREAS on the 29th day of August 1938, the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco passed its ordinance granting to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a California
corpor~ ion, the franchise to use the public streets, ways and places of said city for the
transmission and distribution of gas for all purposes other than those authorized under Sec-
tion 19 of Article XI of the Constitution of the State of California as said section existed
prior to its amendment on October l0 1911, upon the terms and conditions as~t forth in said
ordinance; and
WHEREAS said Pacific Gas and Electric Company pursuant to the Franchise Act
of 193V has duly executed and filed with this Council a bond in the penal sum of one thousa~
dollars ($1,000.00), bearing date the 31st day of August, 1938, and conditioned as prescribed
by law; a~
WHEREAS upon due investigation an d consideration, it appears to tt~e satisfac-
tion of this Council that said bond ~s in proper form and that said bond has been duly exec-
uted by said Pacific Gas and Electric Company and by two good and sufficient sureties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that said bond be, and it is hereby ~ccepted and approved.
PASSED on the 6th day of September, 1938, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen V. Boido, A. J. Eschelbach, M. Minucciani, D. W. Ratto, Rod Tibbetts
