RESOLUTION APPROVING BOND OF PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY EXECUTED IN
CONSIDERATION OF THE GRANT BY THE CITY OF S0b~H SAN FRANCISCO, OF THE FRAN-
CHISE TO USE THE STREETS OF SAID CITY FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION
OF ELECTRICITY FOR ALL PUHPOSES OTHER TNAN THOSE AUTHORIZED UNDER SECTION
19 OF ARTICLE XI OF THE CONSTITUTION OF T}E STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS SAID
SECTION EXISTED PRIOR TO ITS A~NDNENT ON OCTOBER lC, 1911.
WHEREAS on the 29th day August, 1938, the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco passed its ordinance granting to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a California
corporation, the franchise to use the public streets, ways, and places of said city for the
transmission and distribution of electricity for all purposes other than those authorized
under Section 19 of Article XI of the ConstitUtion of the State of California as said section
existed prior to its amendment on October l0 1911, upon the terms and conditions as set forth
in said ordinance; and
WHEREAS said Pacific Gas and Electric Company pursuant to the Franchise Act
of 19~? has duly executed and filed with this Council a bond in the penal sum of one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00), bearing date the ~lst day of August, 19~8, and conditioned as prescribed
by law; and
WHEREAS upon due investigation and consideration, it appears to tine satisfac-
tion of this council that said bond is in proper form and that said bond has been dul~ exe-
cuted by said Pacific Gas and Electric Company and by two good and sufficient sureties;
NOW, THEREFORE, ~E iT HESOL¥~D by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that said bond be, and it is hereby, accepted and approved.
PASSED on the 6th day of September, 1938, by the following vote:
