HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 700-1938NO. 7O0 RESOLUTION ACCEPITNG PETITIONS OF VOTERS FOR RECREATION CENTER & ~IMMING TANK Whereas there has been filed with the City Council of the City of South San Francisco a petition signed by four hundred and seventy-nine qualified electors of said City of South San Francisco, in which said qualified electors request the City Council of the City of South San Francisco to submit to the qualified electors of said City the proposition hereinafter.set forth, at an election to be called for the submission of said proposition to the qualified electors of said city and to be held on the 8th day of November, 19~8, in accordance with the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled: "An act authorizing the incurring of indebtedness by citie: to%m, and municipal corporations for municipal improvements, and regulating the acquisi- tion, construction and completion thereof", Statutes of 1901, page BT, as amended; The proposition hereinbefore referred to is as follows: Shall the City of South San Francisco incur a bonded indebtedness in the prin- cipal sum of $115,000.00 for the object and purpos~ of acquiring, constructing and com- pleting the following municipal improvement, to-wit: recreation center buildings, inclu~ ing a swimming tank, appurtenances and equipment? And whereas the total number of votes cast in said City of South San Francisco for governor, at the general election held on the 6th day of November, 1954, said electi being the last election, preceding the lSth day of October, 1958, at which a governor of the State of California was elected; and Whereas the number of qualified electors of said city who signed the above men tioned petition, to-wit, 479 is more than fifteen (10) per cent of the total number of votes cast in said City of South San Francisco for all candidates for governor at the pr ceding election at which a governor of California was elected; Resolved by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that is is the intention of said City Council to submit to the qualified electors of said city, at an election to be called for the submission of said proposition to the qualified electors of said city and to be held on the 8th day of November, 19~8, the proposition in said pe it ion contai~ed and hereinbefore set forth. -O-O-O-O-O-O -O -O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regulary introduced and not adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this lSth da~ of October, 1'~58, by the following vote: - requiring four members to pass this resolution.
