HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 705-1938RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROTECTION WORK ON THE Bfd~K~S OF TPIE ~ilNTENANCE CHANNELS OF CO~ CREEK BY DAY LABOR ¥~qEREAS the city council of the City of South San FranCisco did, on the 18th day of October, 1938, direct the publication of a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of protection work on the banks of the maintenance channels of Colma Creek, in the City of South San Francisco,'and said notice was published, as directed by sa~d city council, on October 21, and October 28, 1938, in "The Enterprise and The South San Francisco Journal", a newspaper of general circulation published in said city of South San Francisco; and- WHEREAS said city council did, in open session, on the 31st day of October, 1938, publicly open and ex~mine all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following work in said city, to-wit: The construction of protection work on the banks of the maintenance channels of Colma Creek; said work being the work mentioned and referred to in the notice hereinbefore mentioned; and ~EREAS said city council has heretofore rejected all said bids. RESOLVED by said city council that said city council' hereby declares and determines that, in its opinion, the work hereinbefore mentioned may be performed more economically by day labor and the materials and supplies necessary therefor can be fur- nished at a lower price in the open market. The city engineer of said city is hereby directed to cause the said work to be performed by day labor and to cause the materials and supplies necessary for said work to be procured in the open market. -0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly~introduced and adopted by the city council of the city of South San Francisco, this 2nd day of November, 1938, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen V.
