WHEREAS weeds are now growing upon .the streets of the City of South San Francisco designated a's follows: Chestnut Avenue between Commercial Avenue and Grand Avenue; Palm Avenue for the full length thereof, Poplar Avenue for the full length thereof; Gardiner Avenue for the full length thereof, Butler. Avenue for the full length thereof and Green Avenue for the full length thereof; and WHEREAS said weeds have attained such a large growth as to become a fire menace, when said weeds shall become dry, and are dangerous; RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of SQuth San Francisco .that the weeds growing on all the portions of the streets hereinbefore described be, and the same hereby are declared to Be a public nuisance and that it is the intention of said city council to order said nuisance to be abated; Said City council hereby determines and declares that said nuisance exists in front of the following described property, all of which is situate in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Lots 20 and 21 in block 77, lot 20 and 21 in block 79, as shown upon that certain map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co. Cal. Plat No. l", which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, California, ~!arch l, 1892, and recorded in Map Book No. 2 at page 525 all that certain tract or parcel of land situate in said city of South Sen Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and described as follows~ to-wit: BEGINNING at the point formed by the intersection of the south line of Grand Avenue with the west line of Chestnut Avenye; thence southerly along the west line of Chestnut Avenue; thence southerly along the west line of Chestnut Avenue to the intersection thereof with the north line of Commercial Avenue; thence westerly along the north line of Commercial Avenue 100 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the westerly line of Chestnut Avenue to the south line of Grand Avenue; thence easterly along the south line of G~and Avenue to the point of beginning; lots 5 to 19, inclusive, in block 5, lots i and 5 in block 6, lots I and lots 26 to 41, inclusive, in block 4, lots 4 to 14 in- clusive, in block l, lots 18 to 38, inclusive, in block 3, lots I to 20, in- clusive, in block 2, all as shown upon the map of Parkway Terrace on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo~ California; lots 19 and 20, block C; lots 18 and 19 Block B; lot 8 in block S; Lot I Block R; lots 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 27, block E; lot i Block D; Lots 9 to 22, inclusive, Block D; lots l0 and 14 Blocj T; lot I in Block S; lots 7, 8, ~ in block F; lots 1. 9, ll, 13, 15, 17 in block E, all as shown upon that certain map entitled ~Map of Peck's Subdivision No. l, South San Francisco, San MatZo Co. Cal.", which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, California, June 24, 1907, in Book 5 of Original Naps at page ll. There-is excepted from the streets and~ avenues h~reinbefore described, all paved portions thereof and all sidewalk areas and areas of existing drive- ways which are covered with concrete or other sidewalk material. There is also excepted from said streets and avenue the portions thereof upon which, for any cause, weeds are not now growing, or from which weeds have been removed prior to the date of the passage of this resolution. The superintendent of streets is hereby directed to cause to be con- spicuously posted in front of all property, in front of which said nuisance exists, at not more than one hundred (100) feet in distance ~art, but not less than three (3) in all, notices headed "Notice to Destroy Weeds", in the manner and form required by law. All the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of ~alifornia entitled "An act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within municipalities, to be a public muisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same," approved Nay 26, 1915. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,--,- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly in- troduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 1st day of May, 1939, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen V.
