RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MODIFICATION OF LEASE BETWEE~
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND G. H. TH0~.~SON
WHEREAS the City of South San Francisco, as lessor, and G. H. Thomson, as
lessee, did, on the 18th day of April, 1932, enter into a lease bearing that date,
wherein said city let and demised unto said G. H. Thomson certain land, belonging
to .said city, for the purpose of erecting, maintaining and operating an electric
sign thereon, and thereafter said G. H. Thomson assigned said lease to South San
Francisco Sign Co., a corporations and
WHEREAS an agreement of modification of said lease was entered into under
the date of May 18, 1936, between said city and said South San Francisco Sign Co.;
and
WHEREAS said city and said South San Francisco Sign Co. desire to clarify
the intent of certain provisions of said lease;
RESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San F~ancisco that said
city council understands that it was the intent of said city sand said G. H. Thomson,
in entering into said lease, and that it was also the intent of said city and said
corporation, that the consideration to be paid and given by the lessee, as therein
expressed, should be the entire burden to be borne by said lessee to said city for the
sign privileges thereby granted, exclusive of the ordinary personal property tax
imposed by said city upon all personal property forming said sign or connected there-
with, and that said city should not impose upon the lessee any other taxes, assessments,
licenses or burdens, which would increase or add to the consideration to be paid and
delivered to the lessor for the privileges granted by the lessor to the lessee.
The mayor and city clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in the name of
said city and under its seal, to execute an agreement with said South San Francisco
Sign Co. to carry out the purposes or.this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the city council of the City of South San Francisco, this 4th day of December,
1939, by the following vote:
