HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 749-1940~74 9 A RESOLUTIOH OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S0~H SAN FRAN- CISCO PROVIDING FOR HOLDING A GENERAL ~IUNICIPAL ELECTION iN SAID CITY ON TI~E Pth day of APRIL, RESOLVED by the city council of the city of South San Francisco, that for the purpose of holding the general municipal election in said city on the ~th day of April,~ 1940, as provided by law, said city be, and. the same hereby is divided into five I5) election pr'ecincts to be known as Consolidated Voting Precinct "A", Con- solidated Voting Precinct "B", Consolidated Votihg Precinct "C" Consolidated Voting Precinct D , and Consolidated Voting Precinct "E", respectively, Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. I and South San Francisco Precinct No. B, as established by that certain resolution entitled "Resolution and order dividing San ~ate, Co~mty into election precincts and establishing boundaries thereof," passed and adopt- ed by the Beard of Supervisors of the County of San Nateo, California, December 5, 19~9, and recorded in Volume G8 of the minutes of said Board of Supervisors at page El~ et seq., and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" shall be in Parentt's Garage, at No. l~S Orange Avenue~ in said City of South San Francisco~ Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. Z and South San Francisco Precinct No. 4, as es- tablished by said resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San ~ateo, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be in Smith's Garage, at Cot. of Fourth Lane and Locust Avenue, in said City of South Sa~ Francisco. Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. 5, South San Francisco Precinct No._8, and South san Francisco Precinct No. 15. as established by said resolution of the ~oard of Super- visors of said County of ~an ~ateo, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall be in Giannecchini's Garage, at No. SS4 Baden Avenue, in said City of South San Francisco. Consolidated Voting Precinct "D" shall include all the territory described in Sol, th San Francisco Precinct No. 7, South San Francisco Precinct No. 8 and South San Francisco Precinct No. 9, as established by said resolution of the Board of Super- visors of said County of San Mateo~ and the polling place for said Consolidated Vot- ing Precinct "D" shall be in Bottini's Garage at No. 8Z1 Linden Avenue, in said City of South San Franc is co. Conso].idated Voting Precinct"E" shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco Precinct No. 10~ South San Francisco Precinctn No. ll and South San Francisco Precinct No. l~, as established by said resolution of the Boardof Supervisors of said County of san ~ateo, and the polling place for said Consolidated Voting Precint "E" shall be in Guistetti's Garage at No. 808 Cypress Avenue, in said City of South San FranciSco. The following named persons are hereby appointed members of the election board for Consolidated Voting Precirc~ "A": 244 Alice ~. Stireman Oscar W. Sheerin Stella A. Smith Anthony A. Panagopoulos Inspector Judge Clerk Clerk At said general municipal election the polls in each of said Consolidated Voting Precincts shall be opened at six (6) o'clock a. m. of the day of election and shall be kept open until 7 o'clock p. m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed. A sufficient number of ballots shall be and is hereby dir4cted t6 be prepared and caused to be printed for said precincts as provided by law and upon the proper bind of paper, to-wit: the same as used at the general elections in the State of California, by the Clerk of the City of South San Francisco and shall be ik~rnished and provided for the use of the voters a~' said general election. Th~ city clerk is hereby also directed to procure the necessary voting booths as see that they are properly erected and to secure all necessary election materials and supplies required by law. Said city clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said election by publication there- of once in "The Enterprise", a newspaper of general cireculation, published and circulated in s aid city, in the manner and form required by law. - 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the city council of the city of South San Francisco~ this 21st day of February, 1940, by the following vote: Ayes, Co~mcilmen Noes, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen (Seal) Rod T~bbetts, A.
