RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BIDS FOR AUT0~'.~0BILE
FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FP~NCI SC 0.
RESOLVED by the city council of the city of South San Francisco that public
interest and convenience require that said city purchase a new a,~tomobile for use in
the police department of said city. The bidder to whom the contract will be awarded ~
one of the automobiles hereinafter desi~ated will be required to purchase of said cit
the Buick automobile now being used in the f'o!ice Department of said city, which auto-
mobile is model 39-61 and bears en.[:ine No. 635v9024, and the sum of mone offered for
said Euick , automobile shall be applied u~>on the purchase price for the automobile to
acquired.
The city clerk of said city is hereby directed to pab!~sh by two (2) insertion
in "The ~nterpris ~ e", a newspaper of ,~eneral circulation printed and ~oublished in the
City of South San Francisco the following notice invitim4 sealed proposals or bids for
such automoozle:

Sealed proposals will be rece~..ved by the city council of the city of South San
Francisco until 8:00 o'clock p. ur. on ~onday, the 6th day of ~.ay, 1940, for furnishing
to said city, for use in the police department of sa.~,d city one of the automobiles her
inafter designated. The automobileshereinbefore referred to are a ~ick Sedan, ~Jodel-
NCo 40-61; a Lincoln Zephyr Sedan; an Oldsmobile Custom 8 Cruiser Touring Sedan, eerie
90. Each of such automobiles shall b e fully equipped.
Ead bidder shall, in conjunction with his bid, offer to purchase the Buick aut

mobile now owned by said City of South San rancmsco, and now used by the Police Depar
merit of said city, which automobile ms designated as ~,,odel 39-51 and be'ars engine Nco
635'79024.
The amount of such offer shall be applied upon the purchase price of the
automobile which shall be selected by the city council of said city, in the event of
~an award of contract, pursuant to this notice, and a transfer of said Buick automobile
now owned by said city, to the success',~ul bidder.
No bid will be considered by said city council, unless the sa~e is accompanied
by an offer to p~zrchase the Buick automobile now owned by said city.
Scaled proposals or bids will be delivered to the city council on or before
S:00 o'clock p. m. on ?onday, the 6th day of ~[ay, 1940, Ail sealed proposals or bids
will be opened ~y said city council in public session, on ~,ionday, the 6th day of ~day~
1940, at 8:00 o'clock p. mo in the Council Chamber of said city council. The city coun
hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
