in view of the increasingly heavy traffic load it is bearing, and in view of. the serious
head-on collisions and other accidents caused by Baykhore conditions; and
~qi~REAS, unless inm-r~ediate steps are taken to rectify these most hamardous conditions,
there is every indication that an increasing number of serious accidents will occur with
increasing travel along Bayshore Highway; a~d
WHEt~EA$, the present Bayshore Highway, already inadequate for the heavy traffic
load it now bears, will become increasingly inadeGuate as it is used more and more ~n the
development of the National Defense Program.
THEEEFOHE BE IT RESOLVED theft the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
strongly urges the Califor~ia State Highway E~n~niasion to provide for the immediate
construction of Bayshore Highway.
