RESOLVED BY TP[E CITY ~ .... ~_~ OF CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AS
P 0 LLOW S:
Said city council hereby declares the following to be its policy and intention
with respect to the subd~'ision of the land to be known as the Southwood Subdivision:
1. The location of all streets and the location and dimensions of all lots are those
shown in Parcel i upon the map entitled "Tentative ~,~ap of Southwood Proposed Subdivision
of Portion of California Golf Club Property near South San Francisco, San ~ateo County,
California."
2. All land lying west Of the land, which land is either ovmed by the City and County
of San Francisco or which said city and Co~uuty of San Francisco has rights of.way for the
construction and maintenance of water pipe, is to be zoned for residential purposes.
~. All land now owned by American Homes Inc. and lying between the aforesaid land
owned by the City and Cotuaty of San Francis co, or in which said City and County of San
Francisco has such r!Thts of way, and E1 Camino Real, is to be zoned for business purposes~
A-, The owners of the land in said Southwood Subdivision shall have the right to
con~ect the outfall sanitary sewer of said s~division ~ith the ourfall sanitary sewer of
said City of South San Francisco exte~di~ in the direction of said subdivision; it being
understood, however, that neither of said outfall sewers shall be used for other than
sanitary sewer purposes.
.5, All specifications for the construction of paving, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and
sewers shall be the equivalent of the standard contained in the specifications adopted by the
city council of the City of South San Francisco for the improvement work in the 2aradise
Valley Subdivision in said city.
6, ~_merican Homes Inc., and its successors and assigns, shall have the ri~ht, at all
times, to operate and take water frmu any well or wells in said Southwood Subdivision, not-
withstanding the fact that said wells are located in an area which is to be dedicated as
public streets in said subdivision. Said A~.~erican i~omes Inc., its successors and assigns,
shall have the right, at all reasonable times, to exeavate in such public streets for the
purposes of buildir~ and maintainir~t any structure, machinery, pipes and equipment ~ecessary
for the use and operation of said wells; it being understood, however, that, in so doing,
said ~uerican Homes Inc., its successors and assi~s, shall indemuify and save said City of
South San Francisco har~nless against all liability of every kind and nature which may be
sustained by said city of South San Francisco, or by any person, persons, or corporation, by
reason of the use of such public street in connection with the maintenance,' operation s~ad use
of such wells.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the city council of the city of South Ssn Francisco this l~th day of August, 1940, i~y the
