RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BIDS FOR AUTOMOBILE FOR
POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
RES0ZMED by the city council of the City of South San Francisco that public
interest and conveniene~require that said city purchase a new automobile for use
in the police department o-T~aaid city, the bi~der, to whom the contract will be
a warded for the automobile hereinafter designated, will ~be requi~ed to purchase
of said city the Buick automobile now being used in the police department of said
city, whic~ automobile is modle 39-61 and bears engine No. 63602084, and the sum of
money offered for said Buick automobile shall be applied upon the purchase price for
the automobile t.o be acquired.
The city clerk of said city is hereby directed to publish by two (2) insert-
ions in "The Enterprise" a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in
the City of South San Francisco the following notice inviting sealed proposals or
bids for sue/% automobile:
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
FOR FURNISHING AN AUTOMOBILE TO THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
Sealed proposals will be received by the city council of the City of South San
Francisco until 8:00 o'clock p. m. on Monday~ the 30th day of December, 19~ O, for
furnishing to said city, for use in the Police Department of said city, a Buick
Sedan, Model No.41-61. Such automobile shall be fUllY equipped.
Each bidder shall, in .conjunction with his bid, offer to purchase the Buick auto-
mobile now owned by said City of South San Francisco', and now used by the Police
Department of said city, whic~ automobile is designated as Model 39-61 and bears engine
No. 636020§4. The amount of sa ch offer shall be applied upon the purchase price of the
a utombile which shall be slected by the city council of said city, in the event of an
awa rd of contract, pursuant to this notice, and a transfer of said Buick automobile,
now owned by said city, to the successful bidder. The successful bidder shall, with-
out compensation, install upon the automobile to be purchased by said city the siren and
red lights now on said automobile now owned by said city.
No bid will be considered by said city council, unless the Same is accompanied b~
an off er to purchase the Buick automobile now OWned by said city.
Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the city council on or before 8:00
o~clock p. m. on Monday, the 80th day of December, 1940. Ail sealed proposals or bids
will be opened by said city council in public .session, on Monday, the SOth day of December,
1940, at 8:00 o~clockp, m. in tD~ council cDember of said city council~ tt~ city council
hereby reserves ~the right to reject any and all bids.
