HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 798-1941798 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REQUESTINC~ ADOPTION OF ASS~IBLY BILLS NOS. 1429 and 2108. WHEREAS, in the session of the legislature of the State of California held in 1925, there was passed an Act entitled "An act granting to the city of South San Francisco the salt marsh, tide and submerged land of the State of California, including ~he right to wharf out therefro~ to the city of South San Francisco and regulating the management, use and control thereo~ -which act was approved April 10, 19~5~ and WHEREAS the land described in Assembly Bill No. 1429 is a portion of the land covered by the above mentioned act~ and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the city council of the City of South San Francisco, the land described in said Assembly Bill No. 1,29 is useless for the promotion or accommodation of commerce and navigation and is also useless for the establishment, improvement and conduct of a harbor, and for the construction, maintenance or operation of wharves, piers, slips, quays or other utilities, structures and appliances neceszary or convenient for the promotion and accommodation of commerce and navigation;, and WHEREAS,. in the opinion of said city council, said land may be filled and reclaimed and may be used for industrial purposes, by reason of the fact that said land forms a part of an ~rea of said city which can be developed for industrial purposes; RESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San Francisco that said city council recommends the adoption of Assembly Bill No. 1429 by the legislature of the State of California. Said city council also recommends the adoption of Assembly Bill No. 2108, which bill is a comoanion bill to Assembly Bill No. 1429 and will be ~ssential to perfect the title of maid City of Sou~h San Francisco to the land described in said Assembly Bill No. 1429, in the event that Assembly Bill No. 142'J is adopted. # '798 BE IT FURT~ RESOLVED that Senator Harry L. Parkman and Assemblyman H. W. Call be, and they hereby are respectfully requested to give their support to the passage of said bills.
