RESOLUTION OF INTENTION T0 ABATE WEEDS.
~LHEHEAS weeds are now growing upon the streets of the C~ty of South San Francisco
designated as follows, to-wit:
Armour Avenue from the westerl~~ line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of
Olive Avenue; Aspen Avenue for the full length thereof; Pine Avenue from the westerly
line of San Brunoi~Road to the westerly end of said Pine Avenue; California Avenue from
the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the end of California Avenue; Lux Avenue from
the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of Maple Avenue;' Miller Avenue
from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of Chestnut. Avenue; Grand
Avenue from the westerly line of Maple Avenue to the e~sterly line of Chestnut Avenue;
Baden Avenue from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of Chestnut
Ave~ue; Commercial Avenue from the westerly line of Linden Avenue to the easterly line

WHEREAS said weeds have attained such a large growth as to become a fire menace
when said weeds shall become dry and are dangerous~
RESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San Francisco that the weeds
growing on all the portions of the streots hereinbefore described be, and the same hereby
are declared to be a public nuisance and that it is the~intention of s~id city council
to order said nuisance to be abated;~
Said city council hereby determines and declares that said nuisance exists in
front of t~e following described property, all of which is situate in the City of South
San Francisco, Count2 of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described as
follows, to-wit:

The map last herinbefore referred to is that certain map entitled "Section west

There is excepted from the streets and avenues hereinbefore described, all paved
portions thereof and all sidewalk areas and areas of existing driveways which are covered
with concrete or other sidewalk material· There is also excepted from said streets and
avenues the portions thereof upon which, for any cause, weeds are not now growing, or from

is also excepted from the land ~ereinbefore described all land in front of which the entire
area.b~ween the curb and corresponding property line is covered by a side walk~

The superintendent of streets is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously
posted in front of all property, in front of which said nuisance exists, and not more
than one Hundred (100) feet in distance apart, but not less than three ~3) in all, notices
headed "Notices to DeStroy Weeds", in the manner and from required by law.
Ail the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be done in pursuance
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "An act aut~orizing munici-
palities to declare noxious or dang~erous weeds growing upon streets or sidewalks, or upon
private property within~municipalities, to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the
property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for
the cost of abating the same", approved May 26, 1915.
