Said city council hereby adopts the specifications for such crusher run rock, heretofore sub- mitred by the city engineer. Work performed on Saturdays shall be paid for at double the rates for regular time hereinbefore set forth. The rate for any employee not listed in the above schedule shall not be less than $1.10 per hour for skilled labor, $0.8§ for intermediate labor and $0.?§ for unskilled. NOTICE I'S HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City Counci', of the City of South San l~rancisco on Monday, the %~,th day of Ya~V, 1941, until the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. for furnishing to said City of South San Francisco four thousand (4,000) cubic yard of crusher run rock, Said crusher run rock shall be deliw~zs~dto said city on Cr~d Argue, in satd~city, at places to be designated by the city engineer of said city. The contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to the City of South San Francisco Ten Dollars ~$10.001 for each laborer, workman or mechan~S emplo~ed, for each calendar day, or portion thereof, such laborer, workman or mechanic Res.,.80? ~on't is paid less than said stipulated rates for any work done under said contract, by him, or by any subcontractor under him. And such contract shall contain a stipulation to this effect, in accordance with the provisions of ~ection 1775 of the ~abbr Oode of the ~tate of California. 1Vo bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of an act of the LegislatUre of the State of California, entitled: "An act provid~ for the registration of contractors, and defining ~he term contractor; providing the method of obtaining licenses to engage in the business of contracting, and fixing the fees for such license providing th% method of suspension and cancellation of such licenses; and prescribing the punish- ment for violation of the provisions of this act." NOTICE IB FURTH~ HEREBY CIVEN that no person, firm, partnership, association, or corpor~ ion, or agent thereof, doing any of the work herein provided for, as a contractor, or subcontrac~ shall knowingly emplpy, or cause or allow to be employed thereon, any alien, except in cases of extraordinary emergency c~used by fire, flood or danger to life or property. The contractor, to Whom a contract for seid work may be awarded, shall forfeit as a pena~ to the City of Bouth San Francisco, Ten Dollars~$~.00) for each alien knowingly employed in the execution of such contract by him, or any subcontractor under him, for such c~endar day, or pot1 thereof, during which such alien is permitted orn~quired to labor in violation of the provisions of Article A of the Labor Code of the Brats of California. The contract ~must be entered into in compliance with and subject to the conditions impos~ by Article ~ of the Labor Code of the Btate of California. The successful bidder shall, within ten (lO~ days, after the award, enter into a contra~$ with the City of Bouth ~an Francisco for the faithful performance of the work tobl~e~idone under said award.
