RESOLUTION AUTHORITZING THE EXECUTION OF A LEASE
THE CITY (F ~OU~ SAN FRANCISCO. AND SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO

I~HEREA~ City c~ South San FPancisco, as lesso~, and G. H.. THOMSON,
as lessee, entered into a lease, dated Apl-il 18, 1932, wherein said City of South Ban
Francisco did let and demise un~o~ said G. H. ~£homson all that certain real property
situate in t~e Oity of South Ban Francisco, County of San Sateo, State of California,
and particularly described as follces, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point which is distant north 2670 feet and west
257,06 feet f~om the intersection, of the centerline of Grand
Avenue with the centerline of Sl~uce Avenue, as said Avenues
are shown on that certain Map entitled "South San Francisco,
Plat No. 1~ filed for record March 1, 189.2, in Volume 2 of
Maps at page 62, San Mateo County Records.
RUNNING THENCE f~om said point of beginning north 86° oo'
west 633.68 feet; thence no~th 6o 00' east 163.91 feet; thence
south 79o 48' east 242.8Q feet; thence south 71o 31' east,
359,20 feet and south31~ 12' 48" East 72,07 feet to the point
of beginning.
CONTAINING le679 ac~es and being a portion of the Bu~i Bu~i
Ranchos
AND WHEREAS it is p~ovided in said lease as follows:
#22, At the expiration of the tens hereby glinted, ~ in the
event that said lessee shall have fully and punctually performed all the terms and con-
ditions of this lease, said lessee shall have the option to secure and additional term
of said l~emises fo~ the perio~ of ten ~10) yea~s following the expiration of the term
hereby granted, provided that said lessee shall have given to said lesso~ written notice
of b~_s election to exercise this option at lease ninety (90) days prio~ to the expiration
of the term hereby g=anted, The lease fo~ such additional term shall contain all the
terms and provisions herein contained~ but shall contain no option for a renewal~ for
an additional term beyond that covere~ by this eptione#
AND WHEREAS South San F~ancisco Sign Co, is now t~e successoP in interest
of said G. H. Thomson in said lease; and
WHEREA3. by an agreement dated May 18, 1936, between said City of South
San F~ancisco and sai~ South San Francisco Sign Cos, said lease was modified, as in said
agreement mentioned; and
WHE~, by an agreement between said City-of South San Francisco and said
South Ban F~ancisco Sign Co., dated Decembe~ 4, 1939, said City of South Ban Francisco
and said South San l~ancisco Sign Co. decla~d the intent of the parties to said lease
and the amendment made thereto;
NO~, THEREFCEE, EESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San
Francisco that said city enter into a_u additional lease of the land hereinbefore de-
scribed with said South ~an Francisco Sign Co. for the term of Ten (10) yea~s follow-
lng the 1st day of May, 1942, which new lease shall b e substantially in the form of the
lease first hereinbefore mentioned, as modified by said agreemtn, dated May 18, 1936,
and construed by said agreement dated Decembe~ 4, 1939. It is understood, however,
that such additional lease shall contain no option fo~ a renewal or for an additional
term beyond the expi~ation of said last mentioned term of ten (10) yea~s.
The mayor of said city and tl~ cit[ clerk are hereby authox-ized and
directed, in the name of said City of South Ban Francisco and under its seal, to execute
the lease hereby authorized.
It is understood that, if said 8outh San F~ancisco Sign 0se shall nc~ have fully
and punctually performed aX1 the te~ns and conditions required to be kept and pe~-
fo~ned by the lessee therein nmn_ed during the remainde~ of the term of said first
mentioned lease, said South San Francisco Sign 0se shall have no renewal of
said
first mentioned lease o~ additional te~n beyond the 1st day of May, 1942. The

I hereby cex~cify that the fOregoing' r~solution was regularly introduced and
adopted, this Vth day of July, 1941, by the following vote:
