HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 821-1941RESOLUTION 821 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREe.lENT BETWEEN T~-iE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND CiTY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO WITit RESPECT TO A FREA%MAY THROUG~-~I SAID CITY. RESOLVED by the City Co~.n~cil of the City of South San Frm~cisco that said city enter into an agreement with the State of California, acting by and through the Department of Public Works wherein, in order to facilitate the construction of a freeway upon that certain section of State Highway Route 68 between the South ~San Francisco Underpass and the southerly limit of San Mateo, it shall be agreed by said State of California and said city as follow~: 1. Tt~ city agrees and consents to the closing of city streets, relocation of city streets and other construction m~T~cting city streets, all as shown on the plan attached to the foEn of agreement proposed by the Department of Public Works, Division of Highways and marked Exhibit A and attached to said proposed agreement. 2. The State in the construction of. said freeway will, ~t the State's expense, make such changes affecting city streets in accordance with the said p~an, or as the ssme may hereafter b~ modified by subsequent agreement between the parties hereto. 3. The city will resume control and maintenance over each of ti~ relocated or reconstructed city streets on notice to the city engineer from the State ttmt the work in said form of agreement provided for on such street has been com- pleted, except as to any p~tton thereof which is adopted by the State as a part of the freeway proper. 4. Such agreement may be modified at any time by the mutual consent of the parties thereto, as may become necessary f~r the best accomplislLment through State and city cooperation of the whole freeway project for the benefit of the people of the State and of the cfty. The mayor of said city and the city clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in the name of said city and under its seal, to execute the agreement hereby authorized. I hereby certify t~at the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the city council of the City of South San Francisco, this 4th day of August, 1941, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen V.
