OF CANAL Ah]) SETTLING BASIN FOR COI~A CREEK

W~REAS the city council of the City of South San Francisc° did, in open
session, on the ~nd day of September, 1941, publicly open, examineand declare
all. sealed proposals or bids for the removal of the sand fro~ the existing rock
lined canal extending easterly from the south line of Orange Avenue bridge a
distance of one~ thousand (1,000) feet and the widening of the canal above the
rock wall top; the excavation of a canal from the end of the rock lining a
distance of seven hundred (700) feet; the construction of a canal and settling
basin for a distance of thirty-eight hundred (3800) feet; and the construction
of a junction canal;
RESOLVED by the city council of the City of South San Francisco that said
city council hereby rejects sll said bids, except that next hereinafter mentioned,
and hereby awards the contract for the removal of the sand from the existing rock
lined canal extending easterly from the south line of Orange Avenue bridge a
distance of one thousand (1,000)~feet and the widening~of the canal above the
rock wall top; t~e excavation of a canal from the end of rock lining a distance
of seven hundred (700) feet; the construction of a canal and settling basin for
a distance of thirty-eight hundred (3800) feet; and the construction of a
junction canal to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: Union Paving Company
at the price named in its bid, to-wit: Seven and 2~/100 cents per cubic yard.
All such work shall be done at the locations shown upon the plans herein
after mentioned and strictly in accordance with the plans and specifications,
heretofore adopted for such work. All suc~ work and the materials used in
connection therewith shall be furnished under the direction and to the satis-
faction of the city engineer of said city.
The mayo~ and the city clerk are hereby authoried and directed, in t~e
name of said city and under its seal, to execute the contract hereby awarded.

I hereby certify that t~e foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the city council of t~e city of South San Francisco, this 2nd
day of September, 1941, by the following vote:
