TO DENY ON SALE BEER LICE~iSE TO VIRGINIA BEWRAY.
Resolved by tle city council of the City of South San Francisco as follows;-
said 5ity Council hereby protests against the licensing, by the State
Board of Equalization, of the sale of intoxicating liquor in any form at
the location known as the Steel Bowl and also known as No.340 Grand
Avenue,in the City of South San FranciscO, for the following reasons;-
1.There are already too many places fronting upon the portion of Grand
Avenue, between Linden Avenue and ~.i~aple Avenue, where liquor is sold.
~.The Steel Bowl is a place where bowling games are conducted and is
frequented b~ many boys and girls of school age,who come there to play
at bowling,as well as for other purposes.
3. The sale of intoxicationg liquor at that location will, in the
opinion of the City Council, render impossible the enjoyment of the
wholesome sport of bowling by boys_and girls of the school age at that
location.
4. In tile opinion of the City Council~the sale of intoxicating liquor
at tha2 location will tend to create conditions which are inconsistent
with the good order which should prevail in a place of tl:e character of
the Steel Bowl.
5; The Chamber of Con~erce of the City of South San Francisco and_the:Parent-
~eacher Association of the City of South San Francisco have
manifested their opposition to the sale of intoxicating liquor at that
location as detrimental to the best interests of this city.
